Milo's prepping for the latest of his Dad's attempts to make him tougher when Rutger calls him to help him remember his lines for the play that he's starring in that night.

Tropes in this episode:

  • Cue Card: One of Milo's failed solutions to get Rutger to memorize his lines for his play was to write them down in cue cards. Rutger suggests him to write them in big letters, so when he starts reading them, he is reading the big letters very slowly, causing his audience to fall asleep.
  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • To help Rutger memorize his lines for the play, Milo uses his flamingo-phone to call him on stage to read over his lines for him and he will recite them back. Unfortunately, he accidentally gave it to Rutger, meaning that there's no way to call him back to recite. Just when the flamingo-phone rang, Rutger recites a carpet ad from a telemarketer instead of reciting his lines for his play from Milo, causing his audience to immediately start falling asleep due to it being uninteresting.
    • Rutger is fluent in Native American smoke signals, so Milo decides to use his smoke signal kit to make smoke signals to help recite his lines. However, he then explains the disclaimer over the smoke signals instead of reciting, leading to the audience getting confused. Shortly after that, one of the audience members mistakes the smoke signals as fire, causing them to run out of the auditorium, leading to the firefighters to pull it out, despite the kit being perfectly safe.
    • Milo then cue cards to write down the lines that Rutger has to memorize so he can read them. However, due to Rutger suggesting to Milo to write down the letters big enough, when he shows it Rutger, he starts reading the big letters written in the cards very slowly, causing his audience to fall asleep again.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Milo uses his "Bird Brain" to think of a solution on getting Rutger to recite his lines for his play. He then returns home and asks his dad to learn his ventriloquism lessons. He then reads off the lines from a book that contains them while throwing his voice to Rutger when he moves his lips, which thrills his audience and led to his play to become a big hit.
  • Nap-Inducing Speak: Rutger's audience falls asleep twice during his play, first when Rutger recites a carpet ad from a telemarketer instead of reciting his lines, and second when Milo shows him big letters on cue cards and starts reading them very slowly, all because he didn't memorize any of his lines for his play at all.
  • Ridiculous Procrastinator: Rutger is the lead in the school play on the complete works of Voltaire in 18th century French, but he didn't memorize any of his lines just before the play started however, as he was procrastinating by playing too much video games.
  • Ventriloquism: Milo decided to do his ventriloquism lessons so he can read off Rutger's lines from the book that contains them while throwing his voice to Rutger when he moves his lips to memorize his lines. He then does this again with Dishrag at the end of the episode, which the Narrator then throws his voice to Dishrag shortly after Milo shows Lizbeth about his ventriloquism skills by throwing his voice to Dishrag.

Milo needs to find a birthday gift for his not-so-easy-to-please grandmother and help not-so-easy-to-please Ruth to get rid of a big zit in her forehead in time for her turn on picture day.

Tropes in this episode:

  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • Milo decided to order a life-like rubber mask of Ruth which contains everything in her head to the last detail in order to cover up her zit to take her photo for Picture Day. However, just when she starts using it, her zit is actually still kept intact even with the rubber mask as it contained too much detail as the zit in her real forehead is also included in the rubber mask of herself.
    • Milo then uses his make-up kit which comes with the finest make-up accessories and equipment. After using multiple accessories to try to get rid of Ruth's zit, it didn't work out well as she told him to bring out her eyes, not add an extra one on her forehead, causing her face to get ruined.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Milo uses his "Bird Brain" to think of a way to cover up Ruth's zit for her picture. He decides to take a photo of her with his camera so he can paint out the zit eye in his computer and get the copies made afterward. However, due to him having trouble trying to paint the zit eye out for an entire night, just when he shows the picture to Ruth, the final product looks super deformed as all three of her eyes are on one side of her face, which freaks her out. Eventually, a fashion photographer arrives and thinks that Ruth is magnificent once her zit will go away and can make her a star.
  • Exact Words: Ruth tells Milo to bring out her eyes when he tries to put make-up on her face to get rid of the zit, but he instead adds an extra eye to cover up her zit on her forehead, ruining her face as a result.
  • Hard-Work Montage: Milo spends an entire night trying to paint out the zit eye on Ruth's forehead on his computer. When he eventually finishes doing that in the next day, he already has grown a beard.
  • Latex Perfection: One of Milo's failed solutions to cover up Ruth's zit is to use a life-like rubber mask of herself that contains every single detail of her face so she can put it on. Turns out, it contains a bit too much detail as the mask also contains the same zit that she has on her real forehead.
  • Picture Day: The episode takes place during Picture Day and revolves around Milo helping Ruth to get rid of her big zit before she takes her picture.
  • Rise of Zitboy: Despite getting a new wardrobe, a new hairdo, and orders a dozen posters and billboards of herself, her day gets ruined once she finds out that she got her first zit in her forehead just before she has to take a photo of herself for Picture Day, so she calls for the Captain to help get rid of it.
