Jamal turns to Harry for help after his brother shoots a convenience store clerk. Danny is punched by a student after he sends letters home to overweight kids. Steven and Scott clash over their differing leadership styles. Marilyn investigates a student who eats her own hair.

- Call-Back: Harry references Tyronn Anderson from Season 1.
- Cliffhanger: The episode ends with a shot of a catatonic and seriously injured Harry.
- If You Won't, I Will: Amaad refuses to turn himself in, so Harry moves to call the police himself. This prompts Amaad to attack Harry and stab him a handful of times.
- Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Marla ascribes this trait to Danny, explaining he takes on topics he isn't adequately informed on and does it just to keep the students engaged.
- Remember the New Guy?: Harry is clearly familiar with Amaad, whom he dismisses as "crap."
