The death of an animal expo employee exposes the team to the dark world of illegal animal trafficking. Meanwhile, Brennan shares her political aspirations and Sweets & Daisy discuss a big change in their relationship.

- Friend to All Living Things: Though she usually comes off as indifferent, in part because of professionalism, Brennan has a strong emotional response to finding the caged animals, and an even stronger to discovering that the owner shot his Siberian tiger.
- I'm a Humanitarian: Happens by accident when a car is stuck in the mud where a body is buried, and the man trying to dislodge it gets spattered by human remains sprayed by its tires. A tooth is flung into his open mouth and he swallows it by reflex.
- A Lighter Shade of Grey: The pet expo guy runs a zoo full of exotic animals in relatively small cages. He seems genuinely upset about the abuse of exotic animals by illegal traders (who also represent a threat to his legal, if somewhat disgusting, business)... except it's ultimately subverted, because he's the Villain of the Week.
