A murder occurs on the same plane Booth and Brennan are taking to China, requiring the duo to connect back to the Jeffersonian via internet hookup and solve the murder before the plane touches down in Shanghai. Meanwhile, back in the states, Angela and Roxie's relationship progresses as Hodgins tries to move on.


Tropes

  • Comically Missing the Point: Bones thinks the passenger clap for the arrest. Booth informs her they're applauding the landing. She comments that she always wondered why plane passengers applauded on touch-down.
  • Cooked to Death: The victim is baked alive in the oven of the airplane.
  • Death in the Clouds: Booth and Bones were taking a plane to China when a dead body is found, and they have to discover and arrest the murderer before they touch down or else the case becomes "property" of China.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: Eli gets caught trying to sample the alcohol on the plane. Booth later realizes it was because he felt guilty about murdering someone.
  • Episode on a Plane: Bones was headed to China when a dead body was found in the microwave.
  • Hot Librarian: When Bones is doing her investigation on a flight to Shanghai, she has to borrow hornrim glasses from an elderly passenger. Booth walks in on her with her hair up in a bun wearing the glasses and requests she shake her hair out of the bun and say, "Mr. Booth, do you know what the penalty is for an overdue book?" She doesn't get it.
  • Teens Are Monsters: Eli cooked his father's former mistress alive out of love for his mother.
