Recap / Bluey The Adventure

Go To

Bluey and Chloe play "Princesses", which quickly spirals into an epic fantasy tale.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Acting for Two: An In-Universe example. Bluey and Chloe repeatedly switch roles during their game, sharing the roles of the Princess, "Honey Horse" and the Greedy Queen.
  • Anachronism Stew: Played for laughs. A brief line has Bluey's character, in a supposed medieval fantasy setting annoyed at the electricity bill.
  • Aspect Ratio Switch: The imaginative story scenes are rendered with cinematic 2.35:1 aspect ratio, while the normal talking scenes are in the show's standard 16:9.
  • Character Development: In-Universe, the Princess in Bluey and Chloe's game starts out fearful of the Greedy Queen, but steadily learns to be brave for the sake of her loved ones.
  • For the Evulz: Played for Laughs. In Bluey and Chloe's game, the Greedy Queen's Modus Operandi is to turn all the fruit trees in the kingdom into sand. When the Princess asks her Fairy Godmother why that is, the latter shrugs off "I don't know; maybe she just likes sand."
  • Furry Reminder: The princess (Bluey) distracts the Greedy Queen (Chloe) by throwing the tennis ball at her, which the latter immediately runs after to retrieve.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: The Greedy Queen is defeated by her own freezing wand.
  • MacGuffin: The princess is given a magical artifact (a tennis ball), which ends up being the key to the Greedy Queen's defeat.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: The Princess is determined to save her family and goes on a quest to aid them.
  • Toilet Humor: The Terriers frequently make armpit farts, even doing so to try to fight the Greedy Queen .
