"Mega-Lo-Memories: Part Deux" is an episode of Bless the Harts that first aired on November 22, 2020. Episode Code Number 2BPJ05. Directed by Samantha Arnett. Written by Andy Bobrow and Lauren Mc Guire.

Just like in Season 1's "Mega-Lo-Memories", the Harts reminisce about past Black Fridays. While waiting in line for this year's Black Friday shopping, Wayne tells the story of how on one Black Friday he had to deliver dairy products in a failing refrigerated truck. Betty tells the story of how she almost pulled off a masterful slip and fall scam at the Mega-Lo Mart.

Violet does not want to hear either story, but becomes interested in Betty's story because it has to do with the time Jenny was accepted to join the Carolina Panthers' cheerleading squad. This is the first time Violet has heard of this. But Jenny did not become a professional cheerleader because she had just gotten pregnant.

As Jenny talked about her situation with Brenda (Fortune Feimster), Betty worked to outsmart slip and fall detective Henri Tomber (Fred Tatasciore). Betty successfully tricked Henri into pushing a wobbly shopping cart and causing the very accident Betty was trying to fake.

But then there was the announcement that Jenny's trying to shoplift pregnancy tests, which prompted Betty to stand upright without problem and reveal she had not in fact had a genuine slip and fall.

Violet realizes the two stories are in fact connected. Bear Vulcano (Sal Vulcano) helped Wayne use a flower delivery truck to get the dairy products over to the Mega-Lo Mart. Just as Wayne was restocking the egg nogs, Jenny went back to the dairy section of the store to cry. Wayne said some comforting things to Jenny and handed her a violet.

This means that Wayne essentially named Violet. Hearing this, Violet puts on some sunglasses in a vain attempt to hide her tears. Just then the store opens to Black Friday shoppers.

Tropes

  • Aspect Ratio Switch: The screen letterboxes to a more cinematic aspect ratio for Wayne's story.
  • Bait-and-Switch:
    • In the reminiscences, Brenda said Jenny will need an entourage, just like on that HBO show, Arli$$, not Entourage.
    • The guy on the phone call from the Carolina Panthers leads Jenny to believe she was turned down, when in fact she was accepted.
    • Betty is disappointed in Jenny, not for getting pregnant, but for thinking Betty would be mad.
  • Confirm Before Reveal: In Jenny's story, after everyone in the store discovers Jenny is pregnant, she runs to the back of the store to avoid confronting Betty and has a conversation with someone stocking up the eggnogs in the fridge on the other side and they can't see each other's face. When Wayne asks Jenny if the part of the store she ran to was the dairy section and Jenny confirms it and asks him why, everyone realizes that Wayne was the one who was stocking up the eggnogs and that this moment is the first time Wayne and Jenny met without realizing it, and it's when Wayne inadvertently gave Violet her name when he gave Jenny a violet flower to cheer her up.
  • Shout-Out to Michael Bay: Violet says Wayne's story is going to be like "a Michael Bay fever dream."
