Lynn joins the search to find Jennifer. Meanwhile Tobias begins to put his new recruit Todd to good use.
- Bittersweet Ending: Jennifer has finally come home. But Cutter brings Khalil back to Tobias, who rips out the spinal implant he had commissioned for Khalil, leaving him paralytic again, but doesn't kill him.
- Body Horror: Tobias ripping out Khalil's spinal implant is not a pretty sight.
- Bilingual Bonus: 'Angelitos Negros' is Spanish for 'Little Black Angels'.
- Chronic Hero Syndrome: Lampshaded by Henderson, who notes that Jefferson can't stop helping people, even Khalil.
- Internal Reveal: During the family argument, Khali surprises everyone by stating he's figured out Jeff is Black Lightning. As he points out, if Jennifer has electrical powers and Black Lightning is so intent on finding her, it wasn't a big jump in logic.
- Killed Offscreen: What happens to Khalil's police motorcade courtesy of Cutter.
- Number Two: While not The Dragon, Todd seems to have settled in as Tobias' new right hand, or at least a chief assistant.
- One-Man Army: Cutter slaughters the entire police escort by herself.
- Papa Wolf: Anissa and Jennifer have to physically restrain Jefferson from bringing the wrath of god upon Khalil.
- The Reveal:
- Tobias recruited Todd so he can access the full extent of Proctor's data cache that was in the briefcase he stole — specifically a firewall protecting the ASA's interest in ghetto real estate related to their illicit experiments.
- The ASA, and now Tobias, wants Rev. Holt's clinic because it's where they administered their tainted vaccine. He bought it after they originally left town.
- Wounded Gazelle Gambit: How Cutter ambushes the police motorcade escorting Khalil out of Freeland.
