"Pilot" is the first episode of the first season of Bad Judge.
Rebecca Wright, one of the most respected and toughest criminal court judges in Los Angeles, leads an anything-but-innocent private life.
This episode contains examples of:
- Comically Missing the Point: Douglas Riller, the defendant in this episode, who complains about Rebecca's sentence of wearing a shirt that says "I'm a convicted bigamist" on the basis that it would prevent him from picking up girls.
- Cool and Unusual Punishment: Judge Wright sentences Douglas to taking a course on feminism while wearing a shirt saying "I'm a convicted bigamist".
- Easily Forgiven: Douglas, who's pretty easily forgiven by both his wives.
- Held Gaze: Gary and Judge Wright, when he's taking the stand.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Douglas, when Judge Wright asks him about flights to Costa Rica, inadvertently revealing he'd been looking into them as a means of skipping bail.
- Ms. Fanservice: Judge Wright, who's first seen half-naked, face down on her bed.
