Sononi: "Even when apart, we're still together"...?
Where is the basis for such an illogical claim?
I want to know about love...
...the love borne by Tsubasa Inuzuka.

Tsubasa is targeted by Don Murasame, with the ensuing fight leaving him grievously injured. This gives a passing Sononi the opportunity to finish the Donbrother off; however, she cannot bring herself to do so.

Meanwhile, Haruka — having turned 18 — goes to get her driver's license. Her wild driving skills soon earn her a feared reputation and the moniker of "Instructor Killer", though the arrival of a new, hot-blooded instructor may just prove to be her match...

Tropes

  • Accidental Murder: Tsubasa swings at Jūto!Sayama with the Ninjarksword in self-defense, killing it and the real Sayama in the process.
  • The Alleged Car: As a reward for getting her driver's license Haruka gets a car that can be charitably called street legal at best.
  • Bait-and-Switch: With how everything seems to be set up, you'd expect Haruka to accidentally run over Tsubasa and Sononi... Only for her to instead run over Murasame.
  • Car Fu: Upon realizing she hit Don Murasame with the driving school car, Haruka immediately changes into Oni Sister and proceeds to continue fighting Don Murasame using the car.
  • Chekhov's Skill: Played for Laughs. The one thing that Haruka seems to have really mastered during her driving lessons was driving in reverse, which is how she beats Don Murasame.
  • Contrived Coincidence: While hunting down Tsubasa and Sononi, Don Murasame gets hit by the car Haruka is driving in.
  • Creator Cameo: Suit actors Masato Tsutamune and Ryoko Gomi appear as Haruka's first two driving instructors.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Haruka's driving is so crazy that she managed to cause neck injuries to two different driving instructors, along with numerous damages to the driving center's car. It's to the point where she gains a reputation as the "Instructor Killer".
    • Even after obtaining her license at the end, she invited the Donbrothers for a drive, but her personal car is so full of damages they immediately can tell she's dangerous and attempt to flee. Cue Haruka trying to chase after them while driving the car backwards.
  • Drunk on the Dark Side: Murasame's body is still flowing with the energies that made him stronger previously and he wants to use it on something. Tsubasa becomes that intended something.
  • First-Name Basis: Sononi starts calling Tsubasa by just his first name rather than his full name like she's formally been doing the whole show. While it was initially to keep up her "Natsumi" impersonation she keeps doing it even after the jig is up.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Sononi's spent the entire show trying to understand love primarily through Tsubasa's love for Natsumi. And when she finally seems to have succeeded she ends up falling for him herself only to now see Natsumi is in her way.
  • Killed Off for Real: The Sayama Juto is cut down by Tsubasa, who counters with the Ninjark Sword on reflex. Sayama himself was not liberated from the Forest, meaning he dies too.
  • Mercy Kill: Sononi tries to do this to a downed Tsubasa due to Don Murasame hunting him, but couldn't bring herself to do it and instead helps Tsubasa escape.
  • Mistaken Identity: Tsubasa mistakes Sononi for Natsumi when he's temporarily blinded due to an attack by Murasame.
  • Mood Whiplash: The episode switches between Tsubasa and Sononi being pursued by Murasame, and Haruka's hijinks while getting her driver's license.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: Implied and indirectly by Sononi as she deliberately left out the part about Natsumi dying when telling Tsubasa to kill the Crane Juto/Miho with the Ninjarksword in order to 'free' Natsumi.
  • Not So Stoic: Sononi has spent most of the series as the most straight-laced of the Noto Trio, but she gradually starts emoting more and more as the episode progresses, with it being heavily implied that her interest in Tsubasa's love for Natsumi has evolved to her falling in love with him.
  • Out of Focus: Taro and Shinichi only get one untransformed scene right at the end, and Jiro doesn't even get one.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: The boys promptly book it when they see the state of Haruka's car, which already has numerous damages despite only having the car for a short period of time.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The plot involving Haruka trying to get her driver's license at the same time her instructors having to deal with her reckless driving is a love letter to SpongeBob SquarePants' various, yet hilariously failed attempts to pass boating school and ending with Mrs. Puff getting endangered or even arrested. Only this time Haruka actually succeeds getting her license.
    • Haruka's driving instructor tells her, Don't Think, Feel, while she happens to wear a yellow and black outfit that's a dead ringer for Bruce Lee's in Game of Death.
  • Stalker without a Crush: The main plot revolves around Don Murasame seeking to use his newfound strength and Mother directing him against Tsubasa. He proceeds to stalk Tsubasa and Sononi Serial Killer-style the entire episode, only stopped by the coincidental arrival of "Kenji Sayama."
  • Two Lines, No Waiting: The main plot of the episode centers around Tsubasa, having been blinded by Murasame, being guided by Sononi while trying to avoid Juto!Sayama's attacks. The subplot surrounds Haruka trying to get her driver's license, with much wacky antics occurring.
  • Wham Episode: Tsubasa manages to kill Juto!Sayama using the Ninjarksword, killing the real Sayama in the process, though Sononi convinces him that he saved the real Sayama's life and he could do the same with Natsumi if he kills the Crane Juto/Miho with the Ninjarksword.
  • Wham Shot: Sononi's eyes flashing a bright blue after explaining to Tsubasa that he can save Natsumi with the Ninjarksword, conveniently leaving out how Natsumi will die if he kills the Crane Juuto/Miho with it.
