Chapter 2
Ash begins his Friday at Professor Kukui's lab with a gut feeling that something odd is going to happen. Outside, Hoopa snickers as he plans his gift for Ash.
At the Pokémon school, in the middle of a lesson, Ash's Bayleef darts into the room and tackles Ash, who is pleasantly surprised but very confused and fails to understand Bayleef's explanation for how she got there. After school, Ash's Gible ambushes him on the way back to the lab, and he decides to call Professor Oak to figure out what's going on. They find a few more of his Pokémon on the way to town, and are sidetracked when they find all 30 of Ash's Tauros in the town.
Elsewhere on the island, Tapu Koko finds Hoopa and interrogates him for the portals he's been opening. Upon learning what he's doing and why, Tapu Koko tells Hoopa to finish quickly, which he reluctantly agrees to, and then flies off to call the other Tapus to prepare for the coming of many other Legendaries.
At the end of the day, Ash is exhausted from having spent the day tracking down his Pokémon, too occupied even to contact Professor Oak, and is bewildered when he finds that all the rest of his Pokémon have now appeared outside the lab.
