• Iron Woobie: During a heart-to-heart with Arthur concerning how left out he must feel during the Father's Day Picnic, Buster reveals that, "yes", it does hurt sometimes that his father is often absent from his life. But for the most part, he's also made peace with the fact his father won't always be around, and instead, takes it in stride.
• Shout-Out: The name of this episode is most likely a reference to the movie 101 Dalmatians.
• Visit by Divorced Dad: Buster's dad visits Buster sometimes and they travel together sometimes.
• Wild Card Excuse: The previous year, Buster lied about being sick to skip the Father's Day Picnic. This year, he says he "has plans".
