Go To

Release date: November 5, 2021

Opening line: (Wakko) "Making gain-eys!"

Yakko's Big Idea: Yakko has a great, musical new idea for an invention to present to Wakko and Dot.

Mouse Congeniality: Pinky and the Brain enter a "Miss Universe" pageant in order to infiltrate a dictator gathering at "Chump Tower."

Rejected Animaniacs Characters: The Warners revisit rejected characters from the cutting room floor including Aqua-Claus, Mime and Meme, The Office Supplies and Social Butterfly.

Tropes found in "Yakko's Big Idea":

  • Call-Back: The spaceship that Yakko flies in the third verse of the song is the same one used in "Yakko's Universe" from 1993.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Recently discovered habitable planets are probably not the best thing to pitch, given they're all billions of miles away and impossible to reach with our current technology...especially when the price for if the person doesn't like what you're pitching is being dumped into a pit of fire.
  • Improv Comedy Is Inane: Yakko brags he could come up with a good business idea off the top of his head, adding, "And improv is the weakest of my comedic disciplines." Dot snarks back that improv is the weakest of all comedic disciplines, so Yakko's attempt should be terrible.
  • Kick the Dog: Wakko and Dot ultimately punish Yakko at the very end of the episode, after he tells them that the planet was made up, by threatening to plunge Yakko into the flaming pit.
  • Shout-Out: The TV show the Warners watch is a parody of Dragon's Den.

Tropes found in "Mouse Congeniality":

  • Shout-Out: In title and loosely in plot to Miss Congeniality, here with Pinky entering a beauty pageant as cover for Brain to infiltrate the meeting of world leaders in the floor above.

Tropes found in "Rejected Animaniacs Characters":

  • Art Shift: The 'rejected' segments each have different art styles, with "Mime & Meme" having a simplified, almost Family Guy-esque art direction, "The Office Supplies" having a Retraux animation style reminiscent of cartoons from The '90s, "Social Butterfly" being depicted in a Thick-Line Animation style, and "Aqua-Claus" being a parody of the cheap Synchro-Vox cartoons created by Cambria Productions.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The living room and kitchen in "Mime & Meme" bear a striking resemblance to the ones in the Griffin household in Family Guy. Since one of the episode's writers and showrunner Wellesley Wild works on that show, it could be intentional.
    • "Social Butterfly" strongly resembles The Buzz on Maggie.
    • Aqua-Claus is a reference to Aquaman, as a superpowered underwater being with a Heroic Build riding on seahorses.
  • Synchro-Vox: Aqua-Claus uses this effect to resemble old, cheap superhero cartoons.
