Angel sets up shop in LA with Cordelia and half-demon seer Doyle. Wesley comes to LA as a rogue demon hunter and winds up joining them. Angel finds an ally in detective Kate Lockley and an enemy in the demonic law firm of Wolfram and Hart.

Darla returns as part of Wolfram and Hart's campaign against Angel, who starts to edge closer and closer to the dark side as a result, to his friends concern.

Angel Investigations takes over the LA Branch of Wolfram and Hart and try to steer it on the path of good. An old acquaintance of Angel's joins the group. Forces within the firm conspire to corrupt angel while another force seeks to take his job.
