Andi and Bex look at rings in a jewellery store. They struggle to find any they like, until Andi comes across one with a yin and yang design. They both decide it to be a perfect fit for Bowie.

Cyrus watches Buffy practice basketball alone outside the school. After she finishes, she tells him she isn't planning on rejoining the school team. Cyrus thinks this is because of TJ, and tries to assure her that TJ has changed. Buffy is unconvinced.

Andi and Bex plan Bex's proposal to Bowie. Andi suggests doing it with a cake, putting the ring inside and marking it to make sure he ends up with the right slice. Bex loves the idea. They plan to invite him over for dinner the next day in order to put the plan in action. They go to Red Rooster to see him and Bowie immediately guesses that they're up to something, which they deny.

The two work on the cake. They put the ring inside and mark the location with a toothpick. They look around to realise they've made a mess of the kitchen, and decide to leave it, and cook and serve dinner at Celia and Ham's instead.

Back at the school, Cyrus and Buffy enter the gym, Cyrus claiming he left something in his locker. Buffy hears the sound of a bouncing basketball behind her and turns around to see TJ. Buffy is guarded and unfriendly, and TJ expresses disappointment that she's not rejoining the team - while also deliberately winding her up by claiming to still be a better player than her. Cyrus returns, and Buffy realises that Cyrus and TJ planned this encounter so that she and TJ could play each other. She's annoyed, but agrees.

At Celia's, Celia thanks Bex for a hotel room Bex has booked for her. Bex says her mother needs it as she's been having a rough time lately. After Celia leaves, Bex runs to let Andi in so they can set up for the proposal.

TJ and Buffy play basketball while Cyrus keeps score. Buffy gets an early lead.

Andi and Bex cook dinner. They worry they may have cooked too much. They also discover they're both better at cooking than they realised.

TJ and Buffy continue to play basketball and prove pretty evenly matched. Cyrus gets increasingly bored. Eventually, Buffy wins the game, and Cyrus, now alert, runs to hug her, saying he knew she would win. TJ is visibly irritated. Buffy tells him it was a good game, and Cyrus declares his plan to get them to play nicely together a success. He tells Buffy she can rejoin the team now. However, Buffy reveals she actually had other plans - she's forming a girls basketball team. Cyrus and TJ both approve.

Andi and Bex admire the table they've set. Bex begins to worry, and Andi reassures her it will be fine. Bowie arrives. He tells the girls he has a surprise - his band has come to join them. Andi and Bex are speechless. After the band comes in, they wonder if they should still go through with the proposal, and decide that they will.

Cyrus, Buffy, and TJ leave the school. Cyrus wants them all to be friends, which TJ is fine with, but Buffy still isn't sure, as she's still upset with how TJ treated her. Cyrus suggests TJ apologise, and TJ does - through rap. Cyrus and Buffy are both impressed, and Buffy declares things to be all good between them. TJ leaves, and as he walks away, he turns to look back.

Andi, Bex, Bowie, and the band enjoy dinner, until Celia arrives unexpectedly. Andi and Bex take her to the kitchen. Celia is extremely annoyed, until Bex tells her what they're planning, which makes her excited instead. Bex brings the cake through. Before they can serve the cake, one of the band members interrupts. He gets down on one knee and asks Bowie to go on tour with them. The girls are very confused. Bowie is thrilled, but refuses because he wants to stay with Andi. Andi and Bex assure him that it's okay, and Bowie asks if he can think about it.

Andi and Bex go to talk in the kitchen. They both agree that they think he should go, but Bex thinks they not shouldn't propose, while Andi thinks they should still go through with it. Celia doesn't think he should go at all. The guys want to cut the cake, and Bex tells them they can't. Celia asks why, and Bex tells her about the ring. Celia reveals that she had removed the toothpick marker, innocently thinking it to be a choking hazard.

Bex tries to find the ring, and tears the cake apart searching for it. Andi and Bex join in, and Bowie finds the ring. He asks what's going on, and Bex and Andi can only respond with "Umm..."

Tropes in this episode:

  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Bex and Andi discover this applies to them when it comes to cooking.
  • Call-Back:
    • This season ends on the same word as the last one.
    • TJ looks back at Cyrus (though it's ambiguous in context, see Executive Meddling), just as Cyrus looked back at Jonah at the end of season 1.
  • Cliffhanger: Are Bex and Bowie going to get engaged, and (for those not following out-of-universe announcements) who did TJ look back at?
  • Executive Meddling: When TJ looks back, it's ambiguous whether it's at Cyrus or Buffy. According to several cast members and writers, this was not intended, and they were not informed this would be how the scene would be edited - TJ was meant to be unambiguously looking at Cyrus.

  • Lost Wedding Ring: Or rather, engagement ring, leading in to the episode's cliffhanger.
  • Totally Radical: TJ's rap has shades of this, but in a way that's pretty endearing.
  • Wacky Marriage Proposal: The entire A-plot centres around Andi and Bex's attempt at a one of these to Bowie.
  • Wham Shot: TJ looked back!
