At the farmer's market, with Anne hiding her face beneath a cloth and sunglasses, Hop Pop tells the kids to advertise their product as best they can because there isn't a customer to be seen near the family's scream bean stand. Despite Sprig's enthusiasm, nobody in the market is interested in buying from the family's stand, especially due to their usual revulsion towards the downcast Anne.
As she continues to mirthlessly try selling scream beans, a pair of youngsters run by Anne and bump into her enough to make her disguise fall away. Everyone present is shocked to see the current state of their human visitor and Anne fearfully prepares for their scorn and ridicule. But to her surprise, the townsfolk aren't repulsed by her acne. In fact they think Anne's zits are beautiful "ruby-red warts" and begin praising her for having them. Though taken aback by the complete turnaround the public has just made regarding their opinion of her, Anne rejoices over having finally gotten the acceptance of Wartwoord's citizens.
Meanwhile, at Wartwood City Hollow Mayor Toadstool finds himself in a crisis: he is behind in the polls! He frets to loyal toady named... well, Toady, that the negative PR he's gotten for something as "minor" as embezzling money from the townsfolk could affect his chances of reelection next month and wonders how they'll be able to shift the public's perception in their favor. Toadstool then notices the townsfolk showering Anne in adulation for her zits from his window and slyly declares that he's just found the miracle they need.
This episode has examples of:
- 15 Minutes of Fame: Anne's pimples make her beloved in the frog community, leading Mayor Toadstool, who is struggling at the polls, to take her in and ride the coattails of her popularity. When her acne clears up, she has the Plantars help her fake it with swampberries, but after Toadstool tells her not to see them anymore, she exposes her ruse, and becomes an outcast again, happily hanging out with the Plantars again.
- Accidental Public Confession: Anne had put berries on her face to simulate her pimples, but removes them in front of everyone after Mayor Toadstool suggests she stops hanging around the Plantars. The mayor bursts onto the stage and starts insulting the public, which leading to them pelting him with produce.

- Jerkass Ball: While Anne's more of a Jerk with a Heart of Gold, her 15 Minutes of Fame because of her pimples amplifies her jerkass tendencies as she acts even more rude to the Plantars than ever when they visit her in her apartment room, and even mocks the basement she was living in right in front of them. Which clearly offends Hop-Pop. But she regrets this after overhearing Sprig and Polly's complaining on how much of a jerk she's become, and after they try to help her hold onto her fame, she apologizes to them and decides to go back to living with them.
- Jerkass Realization: Anne has this after overhearing Sprig and Polly complaining about how much of a Jerkass she's become, and Hop Pop chewing them out, and tells them to keep support them no matter what. She later decides to give up her fame and continue hanging with the Plantars.
- Literal Metaphor: Hop Pop tells everyone to sell like their lives depend on it... because they do. They really need the money.
- Produce Pelting: After Mayor Toadstool badmouths the crowd within earshot, they immediately pull out fruits and vegetables to throw at them, as if they were expecting it all along.
- Rise of Zitboy: Inverted in its usual portrayal. Anne gets pimples, but the townsfolk of Wartwood mistake them for warts. Since this froggy society find warts appealing, Humans Are Ugly goes right out the door for this episode, and this Zitgirl rises in popularity.Villager: They're warts! Beautiful, ruby-red warts!
- Shout-Out:
- Polly, in reaction to Anne's fans being nicknamed "Fa-Annes," remarks "I don't want to live on this planet anymore."
- When Hop Pop is about to be mobbed by rabid fans, he tells the others "Fly, you fools!"
- In Anne's fancy room, there's a statue of her holding hands with a small frog in Mickey Mouse shorts. This references a real statue of Walt Disney himself holding hands with Mickey Mouse.
