Go To

After getting let go from the CIA, Stan is forced to take a job at a grocery store with Steve as his manager. Meanwhile, Roger makes a bet with a coffee shop musician that he can outplay him in a week.

Episode Tropes:

  • Chekhov's Skill: Stan learning how to stock butter from Steve comes in handy when dealing with the C4.
  • Deal with the Devil: Roger sells his soul to the Devil for instant guitar mastery.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Stan manages to get Steve fired from his job at the grocery store. However, what he didn't account on was that Steve had a permanent record of his own and his termination would be added to said record.
  • Dragged Off to Hell: Roger managed to trick a guy into paying the price for his aforementioned demonic deal, causing him to be dragged screaming into Hell.
  • He Knows Too Much: Apparently, the CIA has a sniper that kills people when former agents tell them about their job at the agency.
Sniper: Hi, Stan! You gotta stop telling people, Stan!
  • I'd Tell You, but Then I'd Have to Kill You: Stan tries to convince his interviewer that he did work for the CIA by having him speak with Bullock. The interviewer assumes it was one of Stan's friends because Bullock said he had to kill him now. Then he's shot by a sniper.
  • Loophole Abuse: Roger gets out of selling his soul to the Devil by making a deal with Jamal. Roger will allow Jamal to continue to be the cafe guitar player, if he agrees to cover the cost of Roger's lessons. One handshake later...
  • Mean Boss: Bullock fires Stan for a cheaper, "half-wit" simply to save money. He does realize the error of his ways at the end, however.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Stan has this reaction when he realizes that, thanks to him, Steve's termination of his grocery store job will be on his permanent record.
  • The Permanent Record: Perhaps the uber-example: It is Serious Business in the Seth MacFarlane universe, as everything is on it, from embarrassing elementary school incidents, to not picking up your dog's poop.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Bullock fires Stan for a dimwit named Gary for half the salary, but the latter ends up bringing Bullock a tray of C4 that he primed and activated. Once Stan saves his former boss, Bullock immediately fires Gary and rehires Stan.
