Julien wants to conquer the moon and recruits Timo to find a way to get there. A failed attempt lands them in a desert where they meet Stanislav, a Russian space monkey that can show them how to actually get to the moon.

- Call-Forward: Julien ultimately decides to help Stanislav return to Russia after thinking about how much he would miss Madagascar if he ever found himself stranded outside it.
- Failed a Spot Check: Julien is convinced that the desert he lands in is either the Moon or maybe even Mars even though the Baobab Tree is clearly visible in the horizon.
- Friend-or-Idol Decision: Stanislav agrees to help with the moon mission if they also help him return to Russia. Things get complicated when Timo's calculations show they don't have enough fuel to do both.
- "King Kong" Climb: An angry Stanislav grabs Mort and climbs up the rocket.
- Misplaced Wildlife: Timo is excited to see a real live space monkey as chimpanzees aren't native to Madagascar.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: For all the effort to get Stanislav back to Russia, It will eventually revealed that the Russians got tired of him and abandoned him on another tropical island anyway.
- Skewed Priorities: After the initial failed launch, Timo shows more concern over his failed calculations than he does about Julien and Maurice.Clover: (Hearing Juliena and Maurice over the radio) They're still alive!
Timo: Aw, they didn't even escape the earth's gravitational pull! (Clover and Mort glare at him) ...But they're alive, yay!
