Retsuko finally tells Ton what she really thinks of him.
Following a reprimand from the CEO concerning his treatment of his employees, Ton changes his tune and becomes uncharacteristically friendly and amiable, frightening everyone. Retsuko tries to roll with Ton's personality pulling a 180, but once Ton realizes that the report made to the CEO concerned her, the long-simmering animosity between the two reaches the boiling point, and they both air out EXACTLY what they think of each other during a fateful company party.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- I Never Said It Was Poison: When the two are having a moment, Retsuko tells Ton to not worry about what the CEO told him. Ton points out that he never mentioned the CEO, which leads him to figure out that she's the one who reported him in the first place.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Thanks to excessive drinking, Ton and everyone else have no memory of the party and the boss' rap battle with Retsuko. Retsuko, meanwhile, remembers everything and as grateful her attack on her boss is forgotten.
- The Last Straw: Ton openly expressing his disdain for Retsuko at the karaoke party leads to her firing back with both barrels.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: The climax of this episode is a rap battle which starts with Ton brutally calling out Retsuko on being a subpar and unmotivated employee. Retsuko eventually counters with something much more succinct:
