* {{Homage}}: The murder plot is a huge homage to ''Theatre/{{Hamlet}}''. The conspirators are plotting to pour ice in Flame King's ear because he murdered their father, his brother. Finn and Jake try to flush them out by performing the discussion they overheard as a play. One of the actors is heard quoting from the "To be or not to be" soliloquy as Finn and Jake sneak up on them.

They follow the conspirators through the Kingdom's air vents, but are unable to identify them. Finally, they infiltrate a company of actors who are performing for the court, and instead of the scripted scene, repeat the plotters' conversation in the hope of making them react suspiciously. The Flame King accuses them of treason and orders them to be executed immediately, but they recognise the two executioners as the plotters. The two turn out to be the Flame King's nephews, whose father, his brother, he murdered for the throne. Finn asks the Flame King if everyone in the Fire Kingdom is evil, which the King confirms. However, the King also confirms that it would be possible for Flame Princess to become good.

Finn and Jake return to Flame Princess's house and find her asleep, so they light one of the candles from her flame hair, and leave it burning next to her. After they've gone, the Flame King manifests in the candle flame and starts muttering "evilevilevilevil", but Flame Princess wakes up in shock and he vanished.

Finn and Jake are hanging out with Flame Princess when she asks them to retrieve her scented candles from the Fire Kingdom. Fortunately, Flambo is nearby and casts his fire-proofing spell on them. They infiltrate the Flame Kingdom and quickly find the candles, but overhear two Shakespearian villains plotting to murder the Flame King.

The guys sneak into the Fire Kingdom to retrieve Flame Princess's collection of scented candles, and discover a plot against the Flame King.
