After angering a witch, Jake loses his fur and his magic powers.

Tropes

  • Canis Latinicus: The Donut Witch's spells are a good example of this trope.
Donut Witch: "Go back-icus from whence you came-icus!"
Finn: "Oh come on, now you're just making those up!"
  • Comedic Sociopathy: The Witch's nonchalant reaction to Jake's dying subconscious while tending a cupcake plant.
Donut Witch: Hm he says he's dying. Let that be a lesson to all you cupcakes. Hnnnn.
  • Crazy Enough to Work:
Jake: I went into the mud, and... (unsure) I... guess I became a magic dog?
Finn: Then our course is clear: we'll roll you in every mud puddle in Ooo until we find the one that'll restore your powers!
Jake: That's crazy, man. Do you have any idea how many mud puddles are in the land of Ooo? Like, four? Maybe even five?
Finn: We've always been lucky, buddy. Besides, maybe the first mud puddle we find will be the right one!
Jake: Nonsense... but I like it!
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Donut Witch takes away Jake's powers (and also gives him a "chubby man-baby" body) just because he ate one of her billions of donuts.
  • Gender-Blender Name: Gary the mermaid.
  • Ignored Aesop: After he gets his powers back from the Witch, it seems that he's learned not to steal, but he ends up eliminating the aesop by knocking the Witch down and stealing yet another donut.
Witch: But didn't you learn your lesson?!
    Jake: NOPE!
  • Jerkass: It's implied that the witch was the one who was lying, accusing Jake of eating one of her donuts when he didn't even have one in his hand, and in the next shot with Jake, he's suddenly eating a donut. The witch most likely set Jake up so she could steal his powers For the Evulz.
  • Mood-Swinger: The witch when she's tending to a cupcake plant.
Donut Witch: Oh you're doing so well! AND I HATE YOU SO MUCH.
  • Not-So-Imaginary Friend: Donut Witch is somehow able to see Jake's subconscious as well.
  • Rejected Apology: Seeing Finn in danger makes Jake finally cave in and go apologize to the Donut Witch. The Donut Witch complains that he took too long, and refuses to accept the apology unless he does "a variety of humiliating things" while doing so.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: When Finn asks if Jake got his powers back by apologizing to the witch, Jake, remembering what she made him do a while ago (slow dancing with his subconscious while wearing flowers in his underwear, with the witch recording it for her newsletter), nervously replies that he found the right mud puddle.
