Basic trope: A top predator gets hunted down, especially by a potential victim.
- Straight: A cougar terrorizes a feral pig population. One day, a rather large boar catches her scent and stalks her. She's mauled to death in her den.
- Exaggerated: A boarzilla obliterates a cougar cub.
- Downplayed: A boar scars the cougar to warn it away from attacking the pigs.
- Justified:
- The Pigs have been discussing a way to get rid of the Cougar, and hired an assassin from another forest to kill her.
- Cougar is old and weak.
- He's a boarzilla.
- Inverted: The hunter kills the hunted.
- Subverted: Boar stalks Cougar and enters her den to kill her. Surprise! She caught wind of his plans. When he stumbles out confused, she pounces from above and snaps his neck.
- Double Subverted:
- ...Except she didn't, and Boar slices her throat.
- ...But he brought backup, and they strike while she leasts expects it.
- Parodied: Boar lays a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown on and kills Cougar even though it was the more Obviously Evil Wolf who killed his brother.
- Zig-Zagged: The Pigs and Cougars kill each other in retaliation for the last time one of them killed the other.
- Averted:
- The Pigs never defend themselves.
- There is no Cougar, or any other predators to hunt The Pigs.
- Enforced: The Nature Documentary crew captured a Real Life case.
- Lampshaded:
- "What if we attacked her instead?"
- "My child, I've been very lucky. Swine are dangerous prey, and I've always been afraid of them striking back."
- Invoked:"We have to get rid of this demon, before they kill us all!"
- Exploited: A wolf uses this opportunity to take over the cougar's other hunting grounds.
- Defied: "We are but swine. We are meant to be consumed, and there's nothing we can or should do about it."

- Conversed: "That scene is rife with Artistic License. Boars can't kill cougars that way."
- Implied: Cougar's corpse is found with severe wounds in her abdomen that a hog's tusk could have made, but it isn't made clear that it did.
