Basic Trope: One character rambles on to the point that the listener falls asleep.
- Straight: Bob talks to Alice at length, but Alice soon becomes bored and drifts off to sleep.
- Exaggerated: Bob reads not one, but two novels to Alice, who falls asleep by the time he is halfway through the first book and is still asleep long after he finishes the second.
- Downplayed: Alice awakes after falling asleep and asks Bob to pick up where he left off before she nodded off.
