- Alice and Bob are bored, and are using the discussion as an excuse to kill time, so they draw it out as much as possible on purpose.
- Inverted: Alice and Bob discuss which character would be the best at diplomacy.

- Bob starts talking back to Alice, but stops himself upon realizing he actually agrees with her.
- Alice and Bob argue over who would win a fight between themselves. Eventually, they get mad at each other and start fighting for real, making the fight no longer hypothetical.
- Double Subverted: Then Alice claims that Dr Tropestein could defeat Spelltrope the Wizard, and since Bob disagrees, they start arguing for real.
