It also has no problem disregarding Alice using violence for self-defense, as long as it's within the regular boundaries of that law (smack answered with smack is okay, smack answered with gunshot is not).

Once their kids grow up, the parents of those children have to tolerate the same abuse they used to inflict upon the adults when they were younger.
