Basic Trope: An invasion by extraterrestrial life benefits humanity.
- Straight: The Federation of Outer Galaxies come to Earth, but instead of making things worse, they actually improved on humanity's issues through faint hints and ideas. Then when the time was right, they revealed a world of peace and harmony between earth and the true existence of aliens.
- Exaggerated: The Federation of Outer Galaxies comes to Earth, and sets off a World-Healing Wave that immediately solves all of human society's problems within 5 minutes of their arrival.
- Subverted: The aliens were indeed, playing with our minds for their amusement, and were nothing but corrupt and greedy monsters who wanted to take over the world from the inside out.
- Double Subverted: ... But word of the corruption on Earth reaches the alien home world, where the central government acts to remove the corrupt governors and install better administrators.
- Inverted: Alien Invasion
- Parodied: All the soldiers aimed their guns at the aliens...only to see them coming out as hippies and such...then the world became all hip and happy.
- Justified: The Federation of Outer Galaxies believe humanity needs the help to avoid an untimely demise, so they sent their best healings and such to help humanity to deal with the worst things they have... war, disease...and politics.
- Enforced: ???
- Deconstructed: Despite being benevolent saviors, there are a still few bad eggs who were quite sinister, abusing their power to the fullest in government positions...but then again, humanity isn't better, as there are more...paranoid people who believe all aliens are immoral, dumb, and corruptible to human vices, thus they became a "crusade" to hunt down aliens to torturing them or ripping the faces off humans who they think are aliens, regardless of who gets hurt. This sparks a battle between two messed up factions.
- Which made the mission for the Federation All for Nothing, as earth is destroying itself.
- Alternatively, the aliens try to be benevolent rulers. However, their Blue-and-Orange Morality lead their efforts to go badly.
- Reconstructed: But after both sides are arrested for the atrocities they made, humans and aliens work side by sid, perhaps finding themselves a creator of a new species.
