Basic Trope: A fight takes place in the rain.
- Straight: Alice and Bob have their final battle outside, in the rain.
- Exaggerated: Alice and Bob have a 3 day battle across multiple countries, but it's always raining.
- Downplayed: It's a mild drizzle outside Alice and Bob's schoolyard scuffle.
- Justified: Bob's master plan can only be completed in the rain.
- Inverted: Alice and Bob fight only when it's not a rainstorm.
- Subverted: Alice and Bob see that it's raining outside, and postpone the fight to a day where it's not raining.
- Double Subverted:...then they get bored of waiting and go back out to finish the fight.
- Parodied: Alice and Bob are getting along just fine, but then it starts to rain and they're at each other's throats.
- Zig-Zagged: during a long fight, it stops and starts raining many times.
- Averted: there are no rainstorms in the work.
- Enforced:
- "This is much more dramatic if it's in the rain, let's do that."
- The set is actually raining outside, and the director takes the opportunity to make a good fight out of the bad weather.
- Lampshaded: "We always seem to fight in the rain, don't we?"
- Invoked: Alice and Bob arrange to battle one another in a duel while it's raining.
- Exploited: Bob uses the rain to make Alice slip.
- Defied: See subverted.
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: "They're doing a dramatic battle in the rain. Looks cool, but how can they see through all the rain?"
- Deconstructed: The rain ends up electrocuting both Bob and Alice because of the electronics they have in their body.
