Basic Trope: A white man finds out that he's had a kid with an "exotic" Asian woman. Usually he's good and she's evil or the other way round.

  • Straight: Bob Jones is a Caucasian man and his lover-turned-nemesis is a Korean woman named Ha Rin Kim, who is quite stereotypical (she does karate, eats rice, dresses in Dragons Up the Yin Yang, etc). During one of their fights, Bob finds out that Ha Rin has recently given birth to his daughter Alice.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Bob screws many women while in Asia and finds out that they're all pregnant by him. All of the Asian women act stereotypically.
    • Ha Rin actually gave birth to quads with Bob.
    • When Ha Rin turns evil, she gloats that she's had five kids with Bob and kept them secret from him.
  • Downplayed:
    • Knowing martial arts is the only stereotypical trait Ha Rin possesses.
    • Ha Rin is only half-Asian.
    • Bob is only half-white.
    • Bob finds out that Ha Rin got pregnant by him but then had a miscarriage or an abortion.
  • Justified: When Ha Rin and Bob broke up, she didn't want Bob to take custody of Alice, so she kept her a secret.
  • Inverted: Bob Kim is the Korean protagonist and he finds out that his evil ex-girlfriend Carol Jones, who is a stereotypical white woman, had his daughter Alice.
  • Gender Inverted: Diane Jones is the white protagonist, and she finds out that she's pregnant by Byung-woo Kim, a stereotypical Korean man who she used to date before he turned evil.
  • Subverted:
    • We meet Ha Rin and find out that she's had Bob's baby, but she's not stereotypical at all.
    • It turns out that Ha Rin was lying.
    • Bob gives Alice a DNA test to find out who the father is, and it turns out it's not Bob.
  • Double Subverted:
    • She then adopts stereotypical mannerisms.
    • She was lying about Alice being her baby. She's actually her sister Ji Yoo's baby (Bob had briefly dated Ji Yoo after breaking up with Ha Rin).
    • It turns out that the father is actually Bob's brother, Charles.
  • Parodied: Bob and Ha Rin still get along and she's not stereotypical, but she acts like a parody of all the stereotypes when she realizes she's had Bob's baby.
  • Zigzagged:
  • Averted:
    • There are no stereotypical Asian women.
    • Stereotypical Asian women don't give birth to white men's babies.
  • Enforced:
  • Lampshaded: "Sorry, Ha Rin, I'm keeping the baby: walking stereotypes don't make very good mothers."
  • Invoked: Ha Rin deliberately doesn't take contraceptives, has sex with Bob while ovulating, and convinces Bob not to wear a condom.
  • Exploited: Ha Rin trains Alice to be her evil sidekick.
  • Defied:
    • Bob wears a condom.
    • Bob decides not to have sex with Ha Rin.
    • Ha Rin takes birth control.
    • All mixed race couples are of more or less the same morality and become more culturally rounded.
  • Discussed: "I used to date this Asian lady. Walking stereotype; dragons, martial arts, the works. Anyway, she betrayed me and then I later found out that she'd given birth to Alice here."
  • Conversed: "His babymama is Asian? She'd better not be all stereotypical like the Asian babymamas I've seen on other shows!"
  • Implied: Ha Rin is seen pregnant or with a baby, but it's never revealed who the father is. Bob, however, seems like the most likely father.
  • Deconstructed: Ha Rin was seen as Defiled Forever by her community because of this, which drove her to become evil.
  • Reconstructed: Ha Rin gains a change of heart, moves in with Bob and form a positive relationship
  • Played for Laughs: Lord Bob invokes it in an elaborate expensive plan so his heir would learn martial arts. The reason Ha Rin is estranged is because she found out about it and is furious that he didn't just hire her to teach his kids.
  • Played for Drama: Bob and Ha Rin have a custody battle over Alice.
