yies in Anime and Manga
----
* Manga/AhMyGoddess:
** Lind the Valkyrie's job description is essentially that of Heaven's own One Woman Army. Belldandy has the skills and potential but not the personality to be the same.
** Satan Hild. One of her smaller clones that only had a thousandth of her full strength could her its own when Lind attacked her, and she was mostly just defending herself till she convince Lind that WorldGoneMad wasn't her doing.
* Esdeath from Manga/AkameGaKill stands to be counted as one of the most powerful humans alive by her pure physical power alone, but she also holds in her body one of the most powerful weapons ever produced and is in complete control of it. She has been outright stated as being so powerful it will require an entire army and ten wielders of weapons similar to hers to even have a chance to beat her. She is also an insane sadist, who enjoys torturing and destroying her enemies and has ordered the populace of entire countries to be buried alive and massacred on a whim. .
* Shou, the main character of Manga/Akumetsu manages to take down 50 people unarmed before being subdued at one point.
* Levi from Manga/AttackOnTitan is claimed to be as effective as an entire brigade. This is proven true during his battle with who he inflicts serious damage on, when highly trained soldiers died fighting against it and failed to even injure it. Mikasa herself has been described by her superiors and allies as worth a thousand ordinary soldiers.
** The Titan Shifters as a whole are all this. The Rogue Titan killed over 40 Titans in a single battle where most humans struggle to kill one.
* The Naritaverse also gives us LightNovel/Baccanos [[spoiler:Claire Stanfield, a.k.a. Vino]], known for most of the anime only as Rail Tracer. The train contained two groups of a dozen or so armed thugs apiece. He slaughtered nearly all of them singlehandedly with what seemed like very little effort, and still found time to [[spoiler:torture Czeslaw for trying to get more innocent passengers killed, convince Ladd to throw himself off the train, save Isaac and Miria, and propose to Chane while covered in blood]].
** Jacuzzi Splot most definitely qualifies, what with raiding eighteen Mafia speaksies single-handedly within one night. Given that each hideout usually has at least a dozen mooks or so...that's about....yeah...
* In Manga/Baki the Grappler, Baki and his father Yujiro are so skilled in martial arts that several world nations consider them walking armies with equivalent strength of a first world superpower. A mere fist fight between the two is treated as a war between to major nations, in which entire populations within miles of the conflict must be evacuated. This trope is played straight when a teenage yujiro himself is depicted single-handedly curbstomping the U.S army during the vietnam war. The asskicking was so brutal that every president since then has had to make a pact of peace with him to show good will, less he turn on them.
* In Anime/BeastWarsNeo, Big Convoy was told to be the "One Robot Army". However, since most of the time he's seen leading a group of Maximals, it could be just an InformedAbility.
* Pretty much all the main characters of Manga/Beelzebub except Furuichi. Subverted, however, when Oga attacks Demon High. All the demons are amazed that a mere human is defeating them by himself, but he finally gets fed up and points out that he's not alone--he's had baby Be'el on his back the entire time.
-->Oga: Get this through your thick skulls! The one you are fighting right now IS YOUR KING!
* Manga/Berserk:
** Guts is called the "Hundred Man Slayer" because at one point he took on a group of 100 enemy soldiers singlehandedly. And this is before he took up his calling as the merciless demonslayer known as the Black Swordsman. Guts, at the time of this writing, has left this title far, far behind in his personal body count of both men and demons, cementing his status as an all-around badass.
** At one point during the Griffith rescue arc, an enemy commander insists to his nervous men (who are waiting to ambush Guts and the Hawks) that the one hundred men story must be an exaggeration, and no one could possibly do that. To give a proper impression of just how doomed the commander and his men are, Guts is currently running on pure apeshit UnstoppableRage after seeing the state that Griffith was in following his year's worth of ColdBloodedTorture, and is tearing apart every Midland guard between the Hawks and the way out. Yeah. Nice knowing you, fellas.
** When the Knights of the Holy Iron Chains encounter the trails of bodies left behind by Guts on the entrance of Misty Valley, it takes them a while to realize it was all done by one man with one weapon, not a whole army with cannons and other heavy artillery.
** Most stronger Apostles are one-man-armies to some degree, thanks to their demonic powers. Zodd is introduced as able to easily slaughter fifty men without taking a scratch, and that's without his demon form. This is put to good use in the New Band of the Hawk, a group of particularly strong Apostles (including Zodd) who routinely curbstomp much larger armies.
* Sebastian Michaelis from Anime/BlackButler, at least when he's fighting humans. Perhaps best exemplified in the second episode of the anime, wherein he takes out dozens of mafia mooks with silverware, effortlessly dodging every bullet fired at him. Of course, he doesn't actually need to dodge, he just doesn't like to mess up his tailcoat. Other supernatural creatures closer to his power level do actually present a challenge, though.
* Manga/BlackLagoon. Revy, Ginji, Fabiola, but especially Roberta. That chick wields a .50 caliber sniper rifle one-handed, and she could shoot you with her belt buckle.
* Several characters from LightNovel/BladedanceOfElementalers:
** Rubia Elstein is described as among the strongest elementalists the Ordesia Empire has seen, having even been nominated as the Fire Queen. In the tournament, she took on entire teams by herself and effortlessly defeated them. That was before she
** Muir Alenstarl can easily defeat multiple opponents thanks to her Jester's Vice power to turn spirits berserk, including Military-class ones.
** Velsaria Eva Fahrengart turned a good dozen of elementalists from her school unconscious from a single attack. And that was without using her spirit, in a form of a flying fortress with cannons.
** Kamito himself fits this trope as he easily overpowered imperial elementalists by himself with no effort. Even as a child, when he was in the Instructionnal School, he always completed his missions perfectly, some of which included taking on many enemies at once.
** The principal of the Areishia Spirit Academy, Greyworth Ciel Mais, was the strongest elementalist of the entire world in her youth, dispatching waves of enemies like they were nothing.
* Manga/BladeOfTheImmortal:
** Manji zig-zags this trope. On one hand he is known as the "Hundred-Man Killer," a title he rightly earned, one slain opponent at a time. However, after Manji gained his Wolverine-like healing powers he found that his skills with the blade took a noticable dip as his immortality deprived him of the incentive to fight for his life. At one point in the manga he is attacked by a hundred opponents simultaneously and only manages to cut down about a dozen before they overwhelm him.
** The contesting Big Bads of the manga, Anotsu Kagehisa and Habaki Kagimura, are also examples, with Anotsu being an acknowledged prodigy blessed with TheGift who, after you take the advantage Manji's immortality gives him into account, is still considered to be Manji's equal, and Habaki with being an aged swordmaster who is Anotsu's equal in skill, being a particularily good IaijutsuPractitioner, with a clear advantage in experience over Anotsu as well as a clear advantage in intelligence over Manji.
** The finest example of a One Woman Army the manga can provide is Makie Otono-Tachibana, and what an example she is. To Anotsu she is the "someone" in his "AlwaysSomeoneBetter," and the one time that Habaki faced her, when her tubercolosis had taken such a heavy toll on her that she could barely remain conscious and he was backed up by a large amount of mooks and five elite warriors, he instantly recognized that if they attacked her all at once, she'd almost certainly kill them all... In other words, Makie is a One Man Army even when the army she's up against consists of One Man Armies.
* Both Killy and Sana-Kan from Manga/Blame (who are essentially opposite sex versions of each other in personality, Determinator will and even WeaponOfChoice) rack-up literally thousands of kills in the manga alone. . Their signature guns make such a massive kill-count plausible.
* Manga/Bleach:
** Each division is a minimum of 200 members. However, each Shinigami Captain is considerably more powerful in battle than every member of their respective squadron put together. However, even by the standards of captains, Aizen and Yamamoto stand out. Aizen is capable of defeating multiple captains, even when ganged up on and yet even he was nervous about taking on Yamamoto in one-on-one Shikai combat. In Bankai, Yamamoto has ThePowerOfTheSun.
** The Espada are so powerful only shinigami captains can fight them. The highest ranks of the Espada cannot be defeated by a single captain and required group effort from even captain-class characters to defeat. Starrk and Barragan were confirmed to be examples of WalkingWasteland even before they became Espada. However, like the captains, they also were not strong enough to handle Aizen's strength.
** The combined might of the Royal Guard is stronger than the combined might of the entire Gotei 13. There are over 6,000 members of the Gotei 13. There are only 5 members of the Royal Guard.
** Ichigo has a unique level of power for any character. When he hit his peak, he was curb-stomping Aizen. .
** The Sternritter are capable of fighting captains. As a result, sixteen of them were able to defeat just under three thousand shinigami (there are around six thousand in total) in a matter of minutes, including several captains, and they only took five casualties in return. With the exception of Renji and Rukia post-TrainingFromHell, NO ONE below captain-level strength is able to take these guys on one-on-one.
* Girge in Manga/BrokenBlade. When you look up OneManArmy in the dictionary, his picture pops up. This guy can single-handedly take out some of the most advanced Golems, fight an elite troop of five and kill every single one of them with a Golem that has only one arm and leg left and smash the highest ranking soldiers of the enemy nation twice without breaking a sweat. And that's only nine-to-five stuff. His being such a badass is the only reason he is allowed on the battlefield because of certain...personality issues of his.
* LightNovel/ACertainMagicalIndex actually has a few: namely the saints, the level 5 espers, Knight Leader, and Ollerus, just to name some (proven by Accelerator and Misaka, the #1 and #3 espers respectively, both taking out large military groups on their own.) Supplementary material explains that this is how you achieve the rank of level 5 Esper; it denotes an Esper powerful enough to function as a OneManArmy if not a PersonOfMassDestruction.
* In Manga/CityHunter, Ryo and Umibozu can take down a few dozens of criminal each. One OVA showed them teaming up against dozens of fake cops with military-grade weapons and an assault helicopter: the fake cops were wiped out, and the helicopter was shot down when Ryo redirected one of its own missiles.
** At the end of the manga they take on an actual army, or at least the elite remnants of one. They left less than ten survivors, all of them too battered to escape and the boss having a concussion.
* Any single digit Claymore from Manga/Claymore (duh) can easily exterminate hordes of simple Yomas with little difficulty, let alone Humans (fortunately Claymores have an ironclad rule against harming people). Really powerful Claymores can even do this to other Claymores, [[spoiler:like when Miria single-handedly defeated almost every other Claymore in service all by herself and without seriously injuring any of them]]. Although for this example it's more correct to talk about One Woman Armies.
* In Anime/CodeGeass if you are an AcePilot, you are probably this: Kallen, Suzaku, and the Knights of the Round all stand out in that regard. Marianne is mentioned to have been this in life, as it just took her and Bismark to defeat all the enemies of Emperor Charles to let him keep the throne in extra materials. Even Lelouch gets in the act once he has the Shinkiro which plays into his strengths. Rolo also takes out an army...and it was with the aforementioned Shinkiro which is not capable of being properly piloted by anyone who is not Lelouch.
* In Manga/CodenameSailorV, Minako Aino/Sailor V's solo manga, the titular character routinely goes against small armies of mooks, and either hold them off long enough to one-shot the MonsterOfTheWeek or wipes them out, depending on them being BrainwashedAndCrazy civilians or lesser youma. Especially notable with Chuu-Chuu, the mosquito youma, as she wiped out the mooks and her with a single attack.
* In Anime/CrossAnge, Ange herself has killed squadrons of dragons by herself, as her OffscreenMomentOfAwesome in episode 6. Unfortunately, that means she hoards all the kills while her teammates are living in PerpetualPoverty. Even Salia herself hasn't heard of anyone killing all the dragons by their lonesome till she saw Ange in action.
* Eight years before the storeline of Manga/DailyLivesOfHighSchoolBoys started, there was this "Archdemon", the menace of all kids around town. Ten Bully Hunters allied to "pacify" her... and they could barely make a draw with Archdemon.
* Anime/DogDays:
** All the heroes fit this, Cinque Izumi, Rebecca Anderson and Nanami Takatsuki. Each of them can take on entire armies of regular soldiers with ease.
** Leonmitchelli is strong enough that a single attack can defeat multiple soldiers. But she could never defeat Brioche, one of her attacks transforming her sword into a gigantic one.
* Manga/DogSoldier has John Fyosuke Hiba, of course (sometimes two-man, with Fudo).
* Fallan Denzell from Manga/DoubleArts is rumored to have taken on and defeated 50 bandits single-handedly. Eventually, though, he sets the record straight: it was actually 500.
* Manga/DragonBall:
** Son Goku defeated the Red Ribbon Army, the strongest army in the world at the time by himself. At age 12. When he told his friends, who had come to back him up, the look in their faces was priceless.
** Everyone in later Dragon Ball and all of Anime/DragonBallZ can be considered this. Demon King Piccolo conquered the entire Earth alone and could make cities disappear with a wave of his hand, and he was considered utterly SoLastSeason before Z even began. Freeza at the absolute nadir of his power, in his first form, destroyed a very large planet, along with its thousands of Saiyan inhabitants plus a bunch of his own men, just by flicking his finger at it. Keep in mind, every single one of those Saiyans could conquer a planet easily, to the point that their babies are expected to solo weaker worlds like Earth. Every character of relevance from the following arcs is literally thousands of times stronger than first form Freeza.
** Every villain from Vegeta onward is basically "will conquer/destroy the entire universe alone if not stopped by the protagonists."
** Special mention should go to Dr. Gero's androids; he was the mastermind behind the aforementioned Red Ribbon army, and consequently decided to beat Goku at his own game in retribution: Creating one individual with the power of an entire army. Androids 19 and 20 were formidable fighters even after the Z Fighters' TrainingFromHell in preparation for them, Androids 17 and 18 required the Saiyans to go through even more Training from Hell in order to change which end of the CurbStompBattle they were on, and Android 16 was strong enough to hand 17 and 18 their heads... though he was never an adversary to them, or the Z Fighters for that matter.
** And, of course, we have Dr. Gero's mightiest android, Cell, crafted with his evil and the Z Fighters' cells. His imperfect form is capable of fighting evenly with 16 and can grow stronger with every human he absorbs. His perfect form, meanwhile, is capable of Curb Stomping all of the Z Fighters at once , and can regenerate from any injury, [[spoiler:even his own self-destruction, and come back even more powerful.]]
** Anime/DragonBallSuper has Saonel and Pirina, two Universe 6 Namekian warriors, who [[spoiler:fused with all the other Namekian warriors from their universe, making them a more literal example than usual]].
** Broly. His Super incarnation absolutely moops the floor with Goku, Vegeta and Freeza, even when the first two are transformed in Super Saiyan Blue and the latter is in his Golden mode. It requires SSJ Blue Gogeta to defeat him and, even then, is just because, as Freeza noted, Broly lacks any real training.
* In the 17th episode of LightNovel/Durarara, Shizuo Heiwajima takes on over a hundred supernaturally powerful and durable Knife Nuts at once using only GoodOldFisticuffs. He doesn't just win -- he Battles them while suffering nothing worse than a number of shallow cuts and scratches.
-->Shizuo: All right then, how many we got? Let's just call it a lot. So now... this should do it. You know, I think I can fully embrace who I am now. Finally start liking myself. I've hated this power so much, I've wanted nothing more than to be rid of it. Now I can finally go all out.
* Manga/ElfenLieds Lucy, in both the anime and the manga, was known for gaining a massive headcount (literally), as in the escape scene at the beginning of the story.
* Kongo Agon of Manga/Eyeshield21 is a One-Man OpposingSportsTeam, playing nearly every position and covering almost all of Deimon's plays by himself.
* Manga/FairyTail:
** Mystogan destroyed branches of and those who are supporting the Phantom Lord guild that was attacking Fairy Tail at the time on his lonesome off-screen, and provided the flags belonging to those guilds as proof after the fact.
** Erza Scarlet once noted that her hardest fight was against 100 knights. In the Pandemonium game of the Grand Magic Games, she once again defeats 100 foes. Live before an entire stadium audience this time.
** Each member of the dark guild Oracion Seis is powerful enough to destroy a standard guild on their lonesome.
** Franmalth boasts that each member of the Nine Demon Gates of Tartaros is capable of equaling and destroying an entire country's military force on their own.
** The Spriggan 12 of the Alvarez Empire are the 12 most powerful mages on their continent, and each one is capable of destroying an entire country on their lonesome with only a mild exertion of effort.
** By the Alvarez Empire arc, Natsu has definitely graduated to this, wiping out a little under 1,000 enemy soldiers at once with a single Fire Dragon King's Roar.
* Hiraga Saito from the LightNovel/TheFamiliarOfZero light novel/anime series stopped an army of 70,000 for about two days by targeting the commanders and flustering their movements. His predecessor destroyed an army of 1000. In the anime, Derflinger notes that Tsundere this was, ultimately, easier than dealing with Louise. This . Essentially, Louise is more harmful to Saito than . Let that sink in.
* LightNovel/FateZero:
** Berseker is capable of taking on a barrage of weapons from Gilgamesh without even flinching. He later destroys Gilgamesh's nuclear-powered Indian airship with a F15 jet fighter, which has the firepower of an entire armada.
** Gilgamesh proves more than a match for an entire army, .
* Pretty much all of the Hokuto and Nanto warriors of Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar can quite easily mop the floor with entire legions of punks and soldiers.
* Manga/FullmetalAlchemist:
** King Bradley proves himself to be this during the battle with the Briggs soldiers; for one thing, the guy takes down a tank by himself. With a sword, no less.
** Greed is able to take out just as many, if not more, Central soldiers and he destroys a truck with his bare hands. Helps that he can make himself NighInvulnerable.
** The State Alchemists are viewed as such in-universe. The Ishbal war had been dragging on for years until the State Alchemists were sent in. It ended, quickly, abruptly and messily. And the viewers get to see just why when [[spoiler: Roy takes on Envy in a RoaringRampageOfRevenge. For some perspective, Envy is an AxCrazy shapeshifter, possesses an insane HealingFactor to the point where it's practically immortality, and can transform into a ten-story-tall massive green monster. Roy is very, very, very pissed. The battle is completely, utterly one-sided and takes Roy all of some thirty minutes of constant KillItWithFire, with a side of flash-broiled eyeballs, to reduce Envy into a pathetic worm-thing.]] Note that it took that long in large part because Roy wanted it to be slow. And turning into that giant monster form proved to be a literally huge mistake, as it just made Envy a bigger target.
* Sousuke from LightNovel/FullMetalPanic. Even at the age of eleven, he was shown to have single handedly killed at least fifteen trained soldiers during one battle in a war zone without breaking a sweat. Gauron saw the aftermath, and it was LoveAtFirstSight. Gauron himself is a OneManArmy as well.
* Riki in Manga/GingaNagareboshiGin. He might have been the only dog remaining in Ohu for now, but he keeps fighting bears all by himself as if it's easy hunting.
* Manga/Gintama:
** Gintoki can be this when he feels like it, which is pretty much never. It's stated to be one of the reasons no one bothers Otose in Kabukichou. Most people would rather deal with the nose-picking lazy bum living above her shop instead of the White Demon.
** Umibozu, Kagura and Kamui's dad, is known as the strongest fighter in the universe and goes around killing massive aliens. His wife may also qualify.
** Shoyou, Gintoki's childhood sensei, is implied to be this.
** Other characters, including villains, are shown to be this as well, Okita, Hijikata, Katsura, Kagura, Nobume, Hattori, Tsukuyo, and Takasugi (usually in flashbacks), Housen, Kamui and Jirochou have all mowed down mooks by the truckload.
* Several characters in Manga/Hellsing (Anderson, Walter, The Captain, Seras), but most notably Alucard. Not only is he capable of single-handedly slaughtering hordes of ghouls or normal humans but .
* In Anime/TheHeroicLegendOfArslan, Daryun fought through an entire battalion to save Arslan during his maiden battle.
** Narsus say that they are now at about 50000 enemy soldiers per member of the team. Daryun says this many would be "fairly manageable" for him and Narsus think that in his case, it might actually be.
* Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers:
** The AnthropomorphicPersonification of England vs. America and a whole bunch of soldiers. England still manages to get America at his mercy, [[spoiler:though in the end IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy he can't bring himself to shoot.]]
** China single-handedly defeats both Japan and Germany with just a wok.
** Hungary takes out the entire Prussian army by herself.
* In VideoGame/InazumaEleven, Fudou tries to be this during the third season's match with Korea's Red Dragon. The result? He pisses other member off. This happens again with Brazil's captain.
* Naraku from Manga/InuYasha has a tendency to send out armies of youkai Mook mooks against his enemies. This is problematic for several reasons:
** Inuyasha has an InfinityPlusOneSword which is legendary for its ability to slay a hundred youkai with a single swing. That claim to fame turns out to be based on its weakest power.
** Miroku is capable of being a One Man Army due to Naraku having cursed his lineage to be carry a hole in their right hand that acts like a black hole. It will eventually consume Miroku's life but, in the meantime, he's learned how to harness its power as a weapon.
** Sesshoumaru eventually gains a sword which, as Byakuya learns the hard way, is capable of taking out thousands with a single swing.
* The anime short Anime/Kigeki centres around the Black Swordsman (not the same one from Berserk), who is hired by a young Irish girl to take out an army coming to attack her village. The Swordsman obliges, and calmly slaughters all 200 fully armored knights on horseback in a few hours.
* In Manga/LoneWolfAndCub, Ogami the titular Lone Wolf once killed 70 other samurai in one fight. This in a manga that's supposed to be realistic...
* Franchise/LyricalNanoha:
** Signum once demonstrated her new upgrade by showing up as the only reinforcement against an invading squadron of Gadget Drones, and destroying all fifty of them in one shot.
** Hayate wipes out four groups of 48 of the same Mooks with a single spell. With one hand figuratively tied behind her back.
** When the RedshirtArmy gets wiped out by Precia's MechaMooks in the first season, Chrono steps up to the plate... and proceeds to mow down Precia's welcoming committee with little effort much to Nanoha's astonishment, then tells Nanoha and her friends to handle the out of control Jewel Seeds while he blazes a trail to Precia on his own.
* In Manga/MagiLabyrinthOfMagic, a Dungeon holder is one on their own due to the power of the Djinn they wield, especially Sinbad and Kouen due to the fact both of them hold multiple Djinns. Muu is a notable example since he is a Fanalis and cannot use magic but makes up for it for through sheer speed and strength. Aladdin is most definitely one as a Magi. As proven during the war in Magnostadt, he could have wiped out the entire Reim army if he wanted to.
* Manga/MissKobayashisDragonMaid has all the dragons fitting this trope. Tohru mentioned how in their world, they were able to annihilate armies of humans easily. Only gods were strong enough to defeat them.
* Futaba from Manga/Mitsudomoe. Thanks to her, an innocent game of Fruit Basket Turnover becomes SeriousBusiness.
* Anime/MobileSuitGundam:
** Amuro Ray made 142 on-screen kills in the first series alone, and since some of those were Mobile Armors or battleships, the actual number of Zeon soldiers he killed is quite a bit higher. This all took place in a couple of months, remember.
** Char Aznable. His claim to fame before appearing on screen? Soloing five battleships in a single battle. He's so good that he didn't take Amuro's skills (as opposed as his SuperPrototype) seriously until he pulled something similar (namely taking down nine mobile suits and two warships, with three other MS and another cruiser dealing with the White Base, in less than three minutes).
* In the second season of Anime/MobileSuitGundam00, Graham Aker/Mister Bushido has a "One-Man Army license", carte blanche from the Federation government to do whatever the hell he wants as part of the anti-resistance task force. Unlike this trope however, while he easily could go around wiping out whole bases, he mostly just ignores orders and has inconclusive duels with TheHero. Members of the group behind the GovernmentConspiracy, unsurprisingly, also have one.
** Anime/Gundam00AwakeningOfTheTrailblazer introduces Captain Shaman and the Mobile Armor Gadelaza, which carries over a hundred and fifty GN fangs! The sheer speed at which he racks up kills is mind-boggling.
** For that matter, any of the Gundam Meisters (or the Sol Braves squadron, made up of six of the best mobile suit pilots in the world), who are shown taking down entire enemy battlefleets single-handedly throughout the final fight (it says something about the sheer overwhelming numbers the enemy possessed that this hardly slowed them down.)
* Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala, Shinn Asuka, and Rau le Creuset of Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED and Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEEDDestiny. Stella may also count once she gets inside the Destroy, and Neo Roanoke becomes one after gaining the Akatsuki.
** Kira takes the cake really. While everyone else there (and Kira too at times) still had backup, for the majority of Seed and Destiny Kira was the only active pilot of his team with only their battleship as backup. He still came out on top, even when in Destiny he was fighting two other armies at once.
* Anime/MobileSuitGundamWings five Gundam Pilots have to be this by default, since each was sent down to Earth by himself with orders to kick the Alliance's butt, and none of them had any idea that the others existed until after everything started. So you can imagine the kind of carnage that ensues once they start working together...
* Deconstructed in Manga/MyHeroAcademia: when criminals break out of Tartarus, Midoriya takes it upon himself to capture as many of them as he can, opting to IWorkAlone work alone to avoid putting his friends in danger (since the BigBad has expressed special interest in capturing him).
* Played for laughs in Manga/MyMonsterSecret with BadassTeacher Akari, who decides on a co-ed dodgeball match for the new class… which means the entire class vs. her. With weapons and shields allowed for the students. Despite all their elaborate battle strategies, she wins while barely breaking a sweat.
* Pretty much every upper-tier ninja in Manga/Naruto qualifies, as some has been claimed to take on countries, some can blast entire villages with a single attack, and some are known to be straight up Physical Gods. The most notable ones are:
** Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, is the target of a "flee on sight" order from the opposition during the Third Great Ninja war. Later, he takes out an entire force by himself. spoiler:He was also the fastest ninja alive, repeatedly facing A and Killer B (the 2nd and third fastest ninja alive) multiple times and beating them, even in the first encounter A-at his maximum speed, couldn't touch him. Note what that said. It was not a "kill on sight" order like (allegedly) some modern intelligence services have with regard to highly wanted terrorists. Flee on sight. Minato's mere presence was enough to send the enemy running. [[spoiler: And now he's back]].
** Sasuke was considered this during his training with Orochimaru early in Shippuden. He defeated 1000 Oto Ninja without killing any of them or suffering so much as a scratch.
** All members of the Akatsuki were this. Pain actually invaded the Hidden Leaf Village on his own and won, Sasori single-handedly conquered an entire nation using his 100-Puppet army, Deidara was a hired bomber who regularly compromised secured areas prior to joining the Akatsuki,Itachi single-handedly killed his own clan and Hidan and Kakuzu easily killed an entire temple's worth of Shinobi just to kill one with a particularly high bounty. Konan, Kisame and Zetsu never get to show that they are this, but are outright shown to be shinobi on par with their teammates and can safely be assumed to be capable of similar feats.They are all S-rank (placing them on par with Kage) ninja's, after all.
** In the Fourth Shinobi World War arc, Kabuto resurrects a whole bunch of these, to fight the good guys, including many of the former Kages, the Akatsuki members, and the .
** Obito Uchiha defeats the entirety of the First Division using Gedo Mazo, getting the sealed Kinkaku and Ginkaku like he was taking a summer stroll.
** The resurrected Third Raikage was able to single-handedly match a a force of 10,000 enemy shinobi for three days, though they ultimately killed him, and could also go one-on-one with the Eight-Tails and fight him till both were exhausted. The other resurrected Kage are One Man Armies, but only he has an actual record of being this.
** Naruto is one starting from Invasion of Hidden Leaf Village arc, and he only gets stronger in the next arcs. By the time of the Fourth War, [[spoiler:after Naruto has tamed Kurama, he is now a TRUE OneManArmy. He curbstomps Five Tailed Beasts all at once.]]
** Madara Uchiha was TheDreaded for a reason. Let's count: [[spoiler:after resurrected as an immortal zombie, his normal fire technique alone needs over 20 EliteMooks with water elements to extinguish, then he assaults the Fourth Division with nothing but Sharingan and bare hands, and is untouchable before Gaara and Onoki intervened. After that he annihilates most of them by using his powers to summon a ColonyDrop x2, before proceeding to casually beat the crap of Five current Kages, destroying two mountains and remains of his earlier ColonyDrop]]. After spoiler:truly resurrected and gains full use of his modified body, he is alone, mortal, blinded, and is facing every shinobi and every Tailed Beasts in the world plus the resurrected Hokages, including Minato and his rival, Hashirama. He is not even slowed down.
*** [[spoiler:The anime pretty much sums it up as this when the fight between Madara and the Fourth Division begins. On one side is Madara standing all alone and looking utterly bored with the upcoming fight. On the other is the entire Fourth Division visibly terrified, sweating nervously, and having to make an effort to psych themselves up in order to even charge at Madara.]]
*** Hashirama was even stronger than Madara in their heyday, and Madara notes that the main reason he and his brother are unable to defeat him in the end is because their resurrection is in a form that is at less than the full power they wielded in life. Previously, when both Hashirama and Madara fought each other in this imperfect resurrected form it was a tie despite Madara wielding new abilities like the Rinnegan.
* Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi:
** Any high level mage probably counts as this. The most extreme example is Jack Rakan. Even Fate prefers to run rather than fight him.. Nagi also counts, being even more powerful than Rakan.
--->Rakan: Are you sure you wanna take us on? I mean, you don't have that much firepower.\\
Commander: We have two entire fleets of airships and over three thousand elite soldiers beyond the next rise! Even you can't possibly...\\
Rakan: Like I said: are you sure? You don't have that much firepower!
** Negi slaughters through hundreds if not thousand of shadow demons while barely slowing down. Other members even lampshade it by saying that he doesn't leave any enemies for them to fight.
* Manga/OnePiece:
** Main protagonist Monkey D. "Straw Hat" Luffy, thanks to being a RubberMan with CharlesAtlasSuperpower:
--->Marines: Hey, Straw Hat! Where's your army? Enies Lobby's forces number in ten thousands!\\
Luffy: Yeah... and I'm alone. GET OUT OF MY WAY!
** Some of Luffy's crewmates are this as well, particularly the other two members of the Monster Trio, Zoro and Sanji. Zoro defeated 100 bounty hunters on Whiskey Peak by himself, while Sanji singlehandedly fought through an entire train packed with Marines and government agents (and was only stopped when he reached CP9). Robin's Devil Fruit powers also make her this, as she can sprout limbs from anywhere and overwhelm scores of people with ease. Brook, who himself has demonstrated talent at taking out large hordes with his swordsmanship skills, is also this against Big Mom's homies, as due to his Devil Fruit power he can overwhelm their weaker souls. And while the other crew members are less well equipped to take on entire armies themselves, they do boast abilities capable of taking on multiple people at once, which include Franky's Cyborg features, Chopper's MultiFormBalance, Nami's Clima-Tact, and Usopp's Pop Greens.
** Anyone who possesses the extremely rare Conqueror's Haki becomes this, as their presence can knock out every weak-willed person in their vicinity. Luffy was able to knock out half of the New Fishman Pirates' 100,000 members in an instant with this, and Oda revealed that the powerful Yonko Shanks would have been able to knock out all 100,000 of them with just his Haki alone.
** [=CP9=]; they've been trained since childhood to become superhuman assassins. They use a power leveling system known as Doriki, and an average soldier has 10 Doriki; when their own Doriki is measured, we find out that the weakest member is as strong as 63 soldiers while the DragonInChief Rob Lucci is as strong as 400. Indeed, he is the only antagonist who has ever been able to match Luffy's CharlesAtlasSuperpower…and even surpass it. The only thing that made him lose to Luffy was the latter's greater willpower, and their battle took every last ounce of it; when Luffy finally managed to knock Lucci unconscious, he could barely muster the strength to speak. A big part of Luffy's motivation came from the knowledge that if he lost, Lucci would without a doubt kill the rest of his crew.
** Fisher Tiger, climbing the Red Line and raiding a Marine base by himself. Not to mention freeing all the Celestial Dragons' slaves. Note that the Red Line is over 6 miles tall. So Fisher Tiger climbed a mountain taller than Everest, then immediately took down an entire Marine base (including oneshotting a Vice Admiral) without taking a moment to rest.
** At the time of Dracule "Hawk-Eye" Mihawk's introduction, Gin referenced him as being one man destroying 50 ships. This was not a difficult feat for Mihawk; he just did it because they were there, and he, the world's greatest swordsman, was bored.
** Boa Hancock's Devil Fruit power makes her an interesting version of this. Since almost everyone is attracted to her, she can use their lust to turn them to stone, and defeated an entire Marine battalion this way within seconds. Even without this power, she's still a formidable match physically, and she has Conqueror's Haki, making her an extremely formidable opponent to the point of her having Story-Breaker Powers if she was more than a supporting character.
** Capone Bege ate a fruit that made him a fortress for minature armies, when an object or human goes out of the barrier, the object or human expands to normal size. So, he is literally a one-man army.
** Trafalgar Law, whose Devil Fruit powers allow him to manipulate everything within his "Room", can mess up the bodies of anyone inside it with little effort. He easily overwhelmed hordes of Marines in both Sabaody and Punk Hazard as he disassembled their bodies with a few swings of his sword before reassembling them.
** Donquixote Doflamingo, even when not using Conqueror's Haki, easily defeated a horde of gladiators...after having fought two one-man armies in Luffy and Law and sustaining massive external and internal injuries that would have killed any normal person.
** The children of the Vinsmoke Family were genetically modified to each become this, and two of them, Ichiji and Niji, took out an entire army and ended a war in just four hours. They were stated to have gained the strength of adults before they were even preteens, with the exception of Sanji, who did not gain these modifications (though grew strong enough to become a one-man army regardless).
** The members of the Yonko are each considered to be this due to their vast strength, as well as their top crew members.
*** Whitebeard lived up to his title as "The Strongest Man in the World" as he took down swathes of Marines with ease even as he was afflicted by old age, and after Whitebeard's death, the mere arrival of Shanks and his crew was enough to convince the Marines to stop fighting.
*** Kaido's strength struck fear into Doflamingo, a one-man army who himself could take on other one-man armies. His subordinate Jack fought an entire warrior tribe for five days and never faltered, only turning to dishonorable tactics when he had other business to attend to. He then went on to sink half of a Marine battalion containing an Admiral, a former Fleet Admiral, and three Vice Admirals. Though he was defeated, he escaped without serious injury.
*** Big Mom was born with unnaturally high physical strength and skin so tough that no weapon can penetrate it, and hardly anyone else in the world can match her in strength. She took down several giants, who are widely considered one-man armies themselves, with her bare hands when she was five years old. She fought the Vinsmokes, a family of one-man armies, and defeated several of them within minutes. No one except the other Yonko have been shown to be able to keep checks on her power during her pirating career, and even the Pirate King Gol D. Roger was indicated to have never defeated her.
** The three Marine Admirals are the only human antagonists pre-TimeSkip who could put the Straw Hats on the losing end of a CurbStompBattle; all three of them are not only ferociously powerful, but have Logia Devil Fruit powers. Aokiji casually froze the ocean solid and then incapacitated the three strongest members of the crew at once, Kizaru casually knocked down a multi-story tree with one kick and then almost killed the Straw Hats before Silvers Rayleigh showed up to subdue him; and Akainu…oh, he takes the cake.
*** Admiral Akainu is the series' ultimate example during the war. Once he'd made up his mind to kill Luffy, not even the combined efforts of Jimbei, Ivankov, Inazuma, Crocodile, Marco, and pretty much every remaining Whitebeard Pirate could do anything more than slow him down. And this is AFTER getting into a one-on-one fight with Whitebeard and living to tell about it. To top it off, not only is he still standing at the end of the war, but shortly thereafter he goes after the Blackbeard Pirates...who promptly get the hell away when they hear that Akainu is in the area.
*** Luffy's grandfather Garp was stated to have cornered Gol D. Roger multiple times, and didn't become an Admiral only because he refused the promotion.
** The admiral Fujitora (Issho) does not disappoint the admiral legacy: he has a Devil Fruit that controls gravity, which allows him to throw meteors at his enemies. It's also been stated that the other new admiral, Ryokugyu (real name unknown), is in the same league as Fujitora, though as of yet nothing else has been revealed about him…or her.
** "Dark King" Silvers Rayleigh was Gold Roger's second in command. He is seen easily handling an Admiral (Kizaru), and says the only reason he is not also taking down a Pacifista and protecting Luffy's crew simultaneously is because of his age and his lack of action in several years, not to mention he would not call more attention to himself by straight up killing an Admiral.
** Gol D. Roger is probably the best example of this, as it was once stated by Garp that he single-handedly defeated the entire army of an unknown country, all because they have insulted his crew. It was stated that only one that could equal him was Whitebeard, and that was back when the latter was in his prime and before the number of fights he was in took their toll on him.
** "Golden Lion" Shiki was a powerful pirate back in Roger's day, and when he attacked Marineford after Roger's imprisonment, he was shown AtopAMountainOfCorpses of all the Marines he had defeated. It was only after a long battle with Garp and Sengoku when he was finally defeated and imprisoned.
* An early chapter of Webcomic/OnePunchMan has Saitama fight and defeat a massive horde of giant creatures called Subterraneans. This then gets played for laughs after it's revealed this was AllJustADream and Saitama kills the leader of the real Subterraneans with one hit, prompting the whole army to surrender and leave.
** During the Alien Invasion Arc, while most S-Class heroes are struggling against one EliteMook, Saitama boards the ship, wipes out more than half of the alien crew, easily curb stomps two elite mooks and fights a bloody duel with leader Boros, the mightiest of all aliens. In his dying breaths, Boros admits he was simply no match for Saitama's prowess.
** Being one of these is the main qualification for becoming an S-Class Hero. You need to prove you're either comparable in power to an entire military division on your own, or you can beat at least a Demon-level threat on your lonesome (which are powerful enough to destroy entire cities if left alone).
* In Anime/Overlord2012, Ainz Ooal Gown is a level 100 MMORPG character trapped in a world where legendary beings are equivalent to level 30. Now add into the mix his ability to summon Death Knights (any of which can overpower dozens of trained soldiers with ease), a skill making him immune to attacks under level 60 and spells that can one shot 200,000 soldiers.
* Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica:
** Homura Akemi. Her use of Time Magic combined with a HyperspaceArsenal strapped to her left arm makes her a literal example, as she shows in Episode 11 when she pulls a whole armoury's worth of hardware out of there between shots. [[spoiler:Too bad it just isn't enough to defeat Walpurgisnacht]].
** [[spoiler:Madoka Kaname, thanks to multiple timelines' worth of karmic destiny being dumped into her, courtesy of Homura's time-travel shenanigans. In one timeline, she is said to take out the aforementioned Walpurgisnacht in a single shot]].
* LightNovel/RebuildWorld:
** While Akira is closer to an ActionSurvivor at the start of the series as a weak StreetUrchin, at first it's only through being helped by his VirtualSidekick Alpha, especially with her using his PoweredArmor to move him like PeoplePuppets, that Akira can be one. Its only a long way into the story, more than two hundred Web Novel chapters, where Akira becomes one on his own. Partially due to training in AugmentedReality mock battles against his Hunter Gang, one versus many.
** Old World ArtificialIntelligence characters in their robot bodies are this. Tsubaki is able to BareHandedBladeBlock a MiniMecha sword, telekinetically kick a skyscraper, and wave her arm to turn soldiers into LudicrousGibs, for instance.
** Halmers, a DifferentlyPoweredIndividual with the fully unlocked natural potential for SuperStrength, is able to take on a dozen cyborgs with enhanced strength on his own while working as Shirou’s bodyguard. He’s also able to punch cracks in the A.I. body of Olivia.
* Manga/RurouniKenshin:
** Kenshin is perfectly capable of taking on numerous mooks and dispatching them with pure speed. He doesn't have the title "Strongest of the Patriots" for nothing. One of his former allies Tani, a corrupt Isshin Shishi states that an entire military unit wouldn't be enough to handle him.
** Sanosuke took out 200 mooks while simply relieving stress, and he's far outclassed by Kenshin.
* Manga/Saiyuki:
** Hakkai killed one thousand demons with nothing but his own hands and a small knife. Unfortunately for him, this led to a KarmicTransformation because "bathing in the blood of a thousand demons" turns you into a demon. Unfortunately for everyone else, this makes him a lot more powerful. And he's the TeamMom!
** Seiten Taisei (Goku's SuperpoweredEvilSide) and Tykebomb Nataku. In the latter's case, Nataku's father considers it an insult that general Kenren's army could substitute for him.
** In Saiyuki Gaiden, in their last stands Kenren takes out a good number of the weird genetically engineered animals that Li Touten created, and Tenpou the same for a lot of men (he arguably would have won if his glasses hadn't been knocked off).
* Demon Eyes Kyo from Manga/SamuraiDeeperKyo is credited in the prologue and throughout the series as a samurai who once slayed 1000 men in a single battle.
* In Manga/TheSevenDeadlySins, each individual Holy Knight is considered the equal of a thousand men. When the northern barbarians invade with an army of three thousand men, two knights working together are able to wipe the army out with minimal effort. The new generation of Holy Knights is even stronger .
* In Anime/ShadowSkill, it is said that a Kuruda mercenary defending his friends and family is a match for a thousand soldiers. Gau Ban proves this in the assault on Blorahan by taking out the entire Soulfan army by himself.
* Manga/ShamanKing:
** Hao (Zeke) becomes so powerful with Spirit of Fire that Then
** Amidamaru killed an entire army that came to capture him. Of course, he dies right after.
* Maka Albarn from Manga/SoulEater kicks the shit out of a huge group of thugs who were attacking her partner, Soul, all by herself, in UsefulNotes/Italy on one instance. Being she's committed to only killing evil humans whose souls are no longer human and have become Kishin eggs, however, she merely leaves them unconscious. Black Star is said to do this quite often too.
* The SuperRobotGenre can be summed up as "a single guy in a giant robot is more than enough for vanquishing an entire alien invasion / interdimensional Eldritch Abominations / whatever wants to destroy the world this week."
** Anime/MazingerZ is interesting because it both plays straight AND subverts the trope. The HumongousMecha eponymous is certainly powerful enough to trash an entire army (and in the original manga, in one scene Kouji estimates its strength can be equal to at least five percent of the total combat strength of the world's major military powers)... but when Kouji has to fight more than two Robeasts at once, he struggles (Mazinger versus Devilman movie) or loses (Mazinger versus Great General of Darkness movie, Anime/Mazinkaiser...). Its sucessors, Anime/GreatMazinger and Anime/UFORoboGrendizer have been seen taking on entire armies and winning (the former in one manga chapter penned by Creator/GosakuOta).
** More Super Robot examples: Anime/KotetsuJeeg, Anime/Raideen, Anime/CombattlerV, Anime/VoltesV, Anime/Daimos, Anime/Zambot3, Anime/Daitarn3... all of them are more than capable of single-handily winning against one entire army or achieving things an army is unable to. Anime/SpaceRunawayIdeon and Anime/GunBuster are most likely the most triumphant examples of the SuperRobotGenre. The former is capable of cutting one planet on half. The latter is capable of wipe out hundreds of thousands of aliens on One. Single. Freaking. Battle.
** Even then, Ryoma Nagare stands out, because of that time when he didn't have his mech... and stormed the enemy capital by himself anyways. And would have won if the bad guy didn't summon four kaijus to help.
** Any Evangelion Unit or Angel is this, due to being all but invulnerable to anything up to a antimatter positron cannon (powered by a nation's entire power supply). Or nukes. Asuka futher proves this point by, in End Of Evangelion, lobbing a BATTLESHIP into an entire tank and artillery brigade. A description of the very first Angel might give a better image: "...chewed through a Tank Battalion in four minutes flat, destroyed three dozen aircraft and took more firepower than the entire Pacific Fleet could dish out, right up to the use of Strategic scale N2 weapons. The UN and JSSDF threw everything they had at it and barely slowed it down at the cost of over a thousand lives and half a billion US dollars". This was one of the weaker Angels.
* Manga/ShonanJunaiGumi: Both of the Oni-Baku are capable of taking down dozens of guys on their own, but this especially applies to Eikichi, best seen when he went on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge against every member of the re-formed Midnight Angels after Akutsu tried to kill Ryuji, Nagisa, and Kamishima. By the time of Manga/GreatTeacherOnizuka, he still is, if the situation calls for it.
* Deconstructed, but otherwise played extremely straight, in LightNovel/SwordArtOnline. Kirito is so overpowered in online games that he develops an egotistic complex that he can protect everyone and win everything on his own. This hits him hard when he's overpowered by a ZergRush and a real life psychopath, making him realize he's not as powerful as he thinks.
* LightNovel/ThatTimeIGotReincarnatedAsASlime:
** Rimuru himself is basically a walking military force all of his own in terms of variety of ways to kill combined with the raw power to pull it off. [[spoiler:He massacred a 20,000-strong human army on his own, first by slaughtering over 5,000 of them in seconds with a BeamSpam magic spell, and then wiped out the rest with a Skill that tears out the souls of anyone who succumbs to fear in his presence (which they were all feeling witnessing the slaughter). And he did this in order to get even stronger so he could pull off a mass-resurrection spell.]]
** The Ogres after Rimuru named and evolved them into Oni each became one (with the exception of Kurobee). During the war against the 200,000-strong Orc Army, Ninja Souei single-handedly slaughtered every single Orc between him and the captured Lizardmen leadership, Shion and Hakurou slaughtered dozens of Orcs at a time with their swords, and Benimaru used his Dark Flame Skill to create SphereOfDestruction en masse to slaughter thousands of Orcs at a time to the point he was the main cause of the 50,000 Orc causalities taken before Rimuru beat the Orc Disaster. And they all only got stronger as the series goes.
** Hinata Sakaguchi is explicitly referred to this by Rimuru, as he calls her more dangerous than the 20,000-strong army of Falmuth on her own. , he's right. She is also the supreme commander of the Knight Templars, of which even the lowest rank would be the equivalent of a thousand normal troops.
** This is lampshaded by Rimuru when he notes that unlike the human/"real" world, strength in numbers means nothing against strength brought to insane degree.
* Manga/TokyoGhoul has several of these, primarily the Special Class Investigators of CCG and high-ranked (SS and SSS) Ghouls.
** Ken Kaneki develops into one, spending the final arc of the original series breaking through an army on his quest to rescue . His presence alone turns the tide of the battle, leaving numerous mooks and high-ranked Investigators wounded.
** Kishou Arima is a legend for being one, earning him the title "CCG's Grim Reaper". His introduction at the finale of the original series involves him standing unharmed in a massive chamber filled with dozens of Ghoul corpses. He is utterly pristine, other than a little bit of blood splattered on his glasses.
** The One-Eyed Owl is a villainous one, pretty much leaving a massacre in its wake whenever it appears. .
** Juuzou Suzuya was made an Investigator solely because he is one, which he proves in his first major combat operation. He uses a motorcycle to jump into a second-story sniper's nest and massacres everyone inside within seconds. His abilities frequently earn him comparisons to Arima, the other example of a teenager rapidly climbing the ranks of CCG.
** The sequel provides the addition of , having taken many a level since becoming a HalfHumanHybrid. Calling his massacre of the first squad he encounters a CurbStompBattle is putting it lightly, and he follows this up with smacking TheHero around like a ragdoll. Justified, since he was ReforgedIntoAMinion using .
* The Four Beasts in Manga/Toriko. [[spoiler:The Mounturtle alone took a barrage of the combined might of the Human World, which could raze 10 million square kilometers (enough firepower to destroy all of Japan 27 times over) without a single scratch, the Gaoh avoided orbital bombardment from satellites while destroying the 100 meter long Mammoth Tanks, the King Octopus Kong destroyed said tanks with ease, and Invaitdeath just melted everything with his poison. Then the Four Kings show up and defeat these beasts in the span of three chapters.]]
* Vash in Manga/Trigun is a PersonOfMassDestruction and is considered to be an act of God in universe.
** Wolfwood with his cross full of violence.
* Manga/Vagabond has "Musashi and the Seventy." The Yoshioka swordsmen are not all FacelessGoons (in fact at least three have full names and a number have internal dialogues), but EGAD UsefulNotes/MiyamotoMusashi is right up there with Guts; it ends up catapulting him from a local celebrity to a national figure. However, the effort seriously weakened Musashi and gave him injuries that are still hurting him in the present. It was more BrokeYourArmPunchingOutCthulhu than OneManArmy.
* Due to the immense power of black triggers, their users in Manga/WorldTrigger become one-man armies. They are expected to fight solo against multiple opponents and win. In particular, Amou's black trigger is capable of demolishing an entire section of the abandoned city infested with enemies, buildings and all, to dust.
* "Thunder Beast of Kouka" Hak in Manga/YonaOfTheDawn. Notable in that while the four dragons are very capable fighters in their own right, Hak is a BadassNormal who can keep up with them just fine and is acknowledged InUniverse
as the strongest warrior in the land.
* Manga/YuGiOh: Exodia the Forbidden One is said to have "defeated a thousand armies in a single night." The Egyptian God Cards also qualify.
* [[spoiler: Berserk Mode Yuya]] in Anime/YuGiOhArcV, due to way of dealing with the Obelisk Force. Although despite war featuring heavily into the show, the lack of time spent on the battlefield hasn't given many opportunities to fight multiple opponents, given that it's a card-game show and most of the duels are one-on-one.

yies in Anime and Manga
----
* Manga/AhMyGoddess:
* Manga/Berserk:
* Several characters from LightNovel/BladedanceOfElementalers:
* Manga/BladeOfTheImmortal:
* Manga/Bleach:
* Anime/DogDays:
* Manga/DragonBall:
* Manga/FairyTail:
* LightNovel/FateZero:
* Manga/FullmetalAlchemist:
* Manga/Gintama:
* Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers:
* Franchise/LyricalNanoha:
* Anime/MobileSuitGundam:
* Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi:
* Manga/OnePiece:
* Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica:
* LightNovel/RebuildWorld:
* Manga/RurouniKenshin:
* Manga/Saiyuki:
* Manga/ShamanKing:
* LightNovel/ThatTimeIGotReincarnatedAsASlime:

It requires SSJ Blue Gogeta to defeat him and, even then, is just because, as Freezer noted, Broly lacks any real training.

, he's right.
** This is lampshaded by Rimuru when he notes that unlike the human/"real" world, strength in numbers means nothing against strength brought to insane degree.

* Guts from Manga/Berserk is called the "Hundred Man Slayer" because at one point he took on a group of 100 enemy soldiers singlehandedly. And this is before he took up his calling as the merciless demonslayer known as the Black Swordsman. Guts, at the time of this writing, has left this title far, far behind in his personal body count of both men and demons, cementing his status as an all-around badass.

* In "Manga/Baki the Grappler", Baki and his father Yujiro are so skilled in martial arts that several world nations consider them walking armies with equivalent strength of a first world superpower.

** Special mention should go to Dr. Gero's androids; he was the mastermind behind the aforementioned Red Ribbon army, and consequently decided to beat Goku at his own game in retribution: Creating one individual with the power of an entire army.
