Peter

  • The guy is pretty creepy appearance-wise. His skin is deathly grey, his eyes are huge and piercing (especially when he smiles), he has heavy dark circles under his eyes, his teeth are sharp and fang-like, and he's very tall. Even when he's relaxed and casual, you can't help but feel that he'll snap any second.
    • If/when he's angry or lustful, his eyes become cat-like, sharp slits. It's very unsettling especially if his previous sprite seemed normal.
  • Peter’s first conversation with you. The two of you are alone in the park and he starts acting uncomfortably friendly and invades your personal space. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he starts calling himself your boyfriend even though this is the first time you ever met him.
  • If you pay attention to what happens near the end of the first day, you’ll notice a shadowy figure right by your bedroom window. Considering that you met one individual who seems to follow you around, it’s not hard to guess who it is. By the way, yes, this happens even if you go on a successful date with Peter.
  • Peter’s entire demeanor. While he may look like a socially awkward guy who doesn’t know how to talk to you, he’s very likely playing off that stereotype just to get you to lower your guard around him.
  • There's something extremely chilling about Peter indirectly threatening you (or someone else) by warning you not to call the police, because he always knows if you do. Whether it's because of his self-awareness of the game's paths and routes or because he's always watching and keeping tabs on you, it's extremely unsettling.
  • Peter's ability to manipulate people with his personality is very jarring. One route you can take in Day 3 has you bumping into Peter at the gas station store Lucy works at. Knowing that you can't cause a scene because as Peter himself put it prior, you "wouldn't want anyone else getting hurt", you act normal. Upon meeting Lucy, Peter is unfaltering with how charming and idyllic he comes across to her. Lucy even remarks to you that you should be nicer to others, just like Peter is.
  • Just how did Peter know that you'd be going to that gas station?
  • "I'll see you tomorrow, darling."
  • On the topic of Peter's mannerisms, there's just so many things about him that strike a chord for anyone who has truly dealt with a stalker in real life, from the extremes such as admitting to touching you in your sleep and kidnapping you, to gas-lighting and blaming you for his actions. It almost comes across that he's angry with you for the crimes he commits.
Y/N: What is wrong with you?!
Peter: You. You are what's wrong with me.
  • Let's not forget that Peter himself is in a nightmare fuel situation. He's a character that is fully aware that he is in a video-game and is not real. He knows he can never have you, and he knows that what he's doing is wrong, but he can't go against his code or his purpose. It makes his remark during your first conversation about him being "your boyfriend" that much more obvious that he's breaking the fourth wall, but there's only so much he can do to break his coding. He throws you into a nightmare, but he's also living through a nightmare all on his own.
  • Peter's methods of killing are not restrained. Whoever it is who ends up dead in Day 3, you'll find their body littered with bloody stab wounds, some even on the face. And that's the punishment they get for even chatting with you in just one scene.
    • Peter making a lighthearted remark about it after admitting it, stating that he did just stab them once so they wouldn't feel any pain initially, but then he "got carried away".
  • Some of the official art of Peter and commissions of him done by Fuboo are very nightmarish. Art of him looking "normal" depict him as sweet, benevolent, easily flustered, shy, the list goes on. Darker art of him can make him appear monstrous, especially when he shows his inhumanly-long tongue, his sharp fangs, and his glowing eyes.
  • Peter's love letter for you, recited by his in-game voice actor. Listen at night in the dark for added creepiness.
  • Peter knows exactly what you're doing whenever you're out of the game and doing other things on your desktop.
  • The alley scene in Day 3, depending on which route you took. In most routes this is where Peter drops the "nice guy" act and shows to you just how dangerous he is. He then proceeds to trap you against the wall, confess how much he enjoys killing for you, how he'll also kill anyone you tell, and relishes in being able to touch you. It's such a stark contrast to the soft, awkward Peter you met at the start of the game.
  • The route in Day 3 if TK is the one who ends up dead where Peter takes you to the Diner. You watch as the chaos unfolds by his side, police and ambulances arriving, people conversing fearfully to one another, and panic in the air as news of the murder spreads around. Peter is so scarily casual the entire time, even predicting when the cops will arrive and acting almost proud of himself at the resulting hysteria, watching the whole thing whilst smiling.
  • If you choose to be abusive to Peter, this can have you acting pretty horrifically to him. One route has you burning him with the scalding coffee he just bought for you. His sprite looks agonized, with tears in his eyes. But he apologizes and bravely pretends it didn't happen. It really makes you wonder who the real antagonist of this game is.

Others:

  • There's a chance that you'll get a jumpscare as soon as you click "Enter", showing Peter suddenly in front of the screen with a bright red background, baring his fangs whilst a scream rings out. For some players, this happened the very first time they played the game! It's definitely a frightening introduction, almost like Peter got too overexcited to see you hit "Enter"...
  • One route has a scene in Day 2 where you decide to kick out Lucy and you go into your bedroom to call Peter to ask him to be your roommate instead. You call him, and after a few seconds, a cell phone starts ringing from somewhere in your room. After a few seconds, it's switched off, like it didn't happen. Your character is understandably unnerved, before you leave your room and then something loudly hits the back of your head and knocks you to the ground. You hear footsteps, and what sounds like a door being locked. The entire scene is absolutely terrifying, especially with the quiet and tense ambiance and dim lighting of your apartment.
  • The alley scene in Day 3 can be a bit freaky, especially if Peter decides to confess his maddened love to you. His sprite can change from looking normal to suddenly being super up close, presumably holding your character's face whilst his eyes are glowing and his fangs are bared. It can be pretty scary since it happens out of nowhere.
  • If you call Peter out in Day 3 whilst in his van, he flashes a death glare at you before knocking you out. It's a reminder that pissing him off is both foolish and dangerous.
  • Lucy has had a pretty rough life, she grew up with a father who routinely abused her and a mother who suffers from serious mental health issues. Lucy even has a tattoo to cover up a cigarette burn left on her by her father.
  • If Don ends up dead in Day 3, the police officer who discovers the murder scene is revealed to be his son, Roy. And it's his first case. Imagine your first murder case being the murder of your own father.
    • It's even worse when you see him and Peter interacting, when it's pretty obvious who is responsible for the murder. Roy is oblivious to the fact that he's talking to his father's killer. And chances are due to his self-awareness, Peter knows that Roy is Don's son. But he doesn't show any remorse or guilt for it.
      • Even MORE chilling is when you become hysterical and Peter swoops in to comfort you and pull you away from the scene, apologising to Roy and successfully playing the innocent card. His ability to manipulate is terrifying.
