Nightmare Fuel / Wayward Pines

  • Beverly's execution in episode 2 is nothing short of disturbing, with Sheriff Pope may Satan burn him eternally in Hell inciting the crowd into conforming.
  • Nurse Pam's everything. Is there something she does that isn't this? Although she starts moving out of this and eventually rediscovers her humanity.
  • The Aberrations, or "Abby's" for short, are twisted, inhuman things that now populate the world After the End. They are fast and strong predators with Wolverine Claws that are nothing short of terrifying when in action. What could be worse? Ah yes. The fact that they, at one point in time, used to be us!
    • Talking about Abbies, the particularly pissed off one that Pilcher kept for experimentation is also a good source of fuel, appearing as a Jump Scare by flinging itself at the glass from behind the blackness of it's cage, then proceeding to bare its teeth in a snarl and ''glare'' at Ethan.
  • The fate of Group A after they were told the truth about Wayward Pines.
  • Pilcher's What the Hell, Hero? moment with Kate is the first time we see him genuinely angry, and it is unnerving to behold.
  • Pilcher's Villainous Breakdown, detailing him cutting the power to the town as well as the electric fence, allowing the Aberrations access inside.
  • The Aberrations laying siege to the town. Fighting has broken out on the streets, the dead lay everywhere and the town's in complete chaos.
  • The Season Finale: all the adults are frozen in retaliation to Pilcher's death and the town's now run by the Brainwashed and Crazy "First Generation", who are once again enforcing Pilcher's brutal rules, with some new additions to the streets. What makes it worse is that this is entirely pointless: Pilcher's rules only existed to control a population ignorant of the real state of the outside world, but even though everyone awake in the town knows the truth they enforce it anyway.
  • Margaret in season 2. She's an Abby with near-human-level intelligence, acts as an alpha to a thousands-strong army, and basically takes an ambassador role of sorts to convey one simple message: The place where Wayward Pines stands was theirs first, and they intend on taking it back, one way or the other.
