Nightmare Fuel / The Legend of Zhen Huan

• The tone of the series is set early on when Consort Hua catches a new concubine losing her temper and attempting to strike another concubine. Hua punishes her by having her crippled. In-universe this utterly horrifies Zhen Huan, Meizhaung and Lingrong but the empress and emperor don’t bat an eye.
• Little lady Chun overhears Consort Hua conspiring with a member of the court, when Hua realises she’s being watched, she sends her eunuch to kill Chun and the poor girl is drowned.
