Nightmare Fuel / North by Northwest

• Just the fact that an innocent man is almost killed several times because he can’t convince his kidnapper that he isn’t the man his kidnapper adamantly thinks he is.
• The scene where Roger is almost killed drink-driving. It’s only by sheer good luck that Roger isn’t killed by the villains or his own heavily-inebriated state, or that he doesn’t accidentally kill anyone else.
  • And then there’s that Impairment Shot where we see the road from Roger’s drunken point of view, appearing to curve and go straight at the same time. There’s a reason why drink-driving is so dangerous. As previously stated, had he not been able to control the car, that could have been one of the last things he ever saw…
• The crop-duster scene. The man at the bus stop points out that the crop-duster plane is dusting crops where there aren’t any, and moments after he departs, it bears down on Roger and almost kills him (again).
• At the end, Eve only lives because Roger was there to warn her that Vandamm and Leonard had figured out her duplicity. Had Roger not been there, Eve would almost certainly be dead.
