The fight for Managed Democracy across the galaxy holds many horrors.
Super Earth
- A lot of creeping terror is derived from the Realism-Induced Horror of Super Earth as a concept—if humanity isn't careful, we very well could become The Empire of the Milky Way due to our own lust for fame, riches and technology while deluding ourselves that we're the peacekeepers of freedom and democracy.
Bugs
- You're going to be hearing the Bugs long before you see them, whether it's skittering far off in the distance or the sudden chitter of a pack of Scouts noticing you. It's a great way for the game to set you on edge that you're about to be swarmed by 14 Elites and an Impaler.
Cyborgs
- Examining the Cyborgs up close can show how they're horrifically mutilated in certain ways. and they see it as a good thing due to their posthumanistic ideology.
- The Cyborg language is always vaguely threatening to hear whether from a patrol off in the distance or a massive squad rushing you down, sounding like an unholy combination of electronic feedback and every Turkic language simultaneously. No matter how many hours you've logged in the game, it's still always terrifying to suddenly hear the telltale "VAL'UKHA! KHEL'DAIVA!!!" of a patrol becoming alert to your presence and have 40 Cyborgs suddenly drop right on your position.
