Mythology Gag / Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters

Go To

  • The Buster Machines seem to be a mash-up of the Engines (animal/vehicle gimmick) and the Gosei Machines (removable head gimmick).
  • The name and the spy theme itself seems to be a homage to Himitsu Sentai Gorenger. Yoko's name could also be considered a homage to EAGLE Agent 007, whose given name was also Yoko.
  • Only the second gorilla Ranger in Sentai history, Blue Buster shares his color with the first, that is Ginga Blue.
  • GT-02 using banana projectiles to attack is nothing new.
  • Neither is Ace using a sword to attack even when in vehicle mode. That would go to the Pat Striker.
  • Apparently Enter's habit of repeating words thrice came from Kinggon. Did Messiah get his temper?
  • The end of the Dancing Theme shows everyone in a very familiar pose.
  • Go-Buster Beet takes its cues from Kyūkyū Sentai GoGoV's Red Ladder (and by extension, the Victory Robo itself), since they both have extendable arms. BC-04 even resembles the Red Ladder's base design, despite being based on different vehicles (BC-04 Beetle is a crane, Red Ladder is a firetruck).
  • BC-04's placement in the Great Go-Buster formation is the same as Gorai Beetle in the TenraiSenpuujin; remember that they're based on the same animal.
    • Tategami Lio also brings to mind Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger - sharing the spinning mane of Yellow's mecha, has a bluish-purple color scheme, and is driven by Red.
  • Two in #42. The Monster of the Week claims its victims by hurling insults at them, and not only is Yoko stuck in a hostage situation in the creature's vehicle form, but she's singing the exact same song that Umeko did!
  • Each Gobuster has a comparable Flashman - Hiromu, Ryuji, and Yoko have powers corresponding to Bun, Dai, and Lou; Masato Jin and Jin/Red Flash have comparable personal scenarios (being the oldest member of the team and being the most knowledgable about science, having been removed from the Earth, suffering deadly consequences after being removed from their alternate Earth); lastly, Beet J Stag and Sara Tokimura are the odd ones out, having different powers and different personal scenarios...but they do possess a part of their name that none of their teammates havenote .
