Music: Seven Kingdoms
Seven Kingdoms are an American Power Metal band that combine influences from American bands like Iced Earth and European bands like Blind Guardian. Their lyrics are typically fantasy-inspired, and their first album was inspired by George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire (which is also the inspiration for their band name).

They got some exposure to American fans of European metal when they opened for Blind Guardian on their 2010 North American tour.

Tropes relating to the band and their music

  • Concept Album: Both of them. Their first is based on A Song of Ice and Fire while the second tells an original story over several of its songs.
  • Filk Song: A lot of their songs are based on A Song of Ice and Fire, and one other ("In The Twisted Twilight") is based on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
  • Harsh Vocals: Used nearly as often as clean vocals on the first album, and more sparingly on the second.
  • Power Metal: A mix of the American and European styles.
  • Soprano and Gravel: The second album, which has a female lead vocalist, has a bit of this.
    • The first album is a rare, one man, male version.
