* If a character played by Creator/JodieFoster has a child or a teenager in her care -- do not threaten them! Movies like ''Film/Flightplan2005'' (where [[spoiler: her little daughter is abducted and petty much ''erased'' by a bunch of terrorists playing a GambitRoulette]]) and ''Film/PanicRoom'' (where she and her teenage daughter, also DelicateAndSickly, have to protect themselves thee dangerous delinquents searching for something in their apartment's panic room) should make that very, very clear.

* Non-action-movie version: In the 1938 Yiddish film ''Mamele'' (Little Mother), Khavkhe (Molly Picon) takes care of her whole family. A gangster, Max Katz, recruits her brother into a burglary gang, and courts her sister (with the intention of turning her into a prostitute). Khavkhe manages to pickpocket Katz's gun, and makes him write a letter breaking up with the sister. ("You may be a Katz (cat), but you'll leave here as a kitten.")

** Frigga from the Film/{{Thor}} movies. In a deleted scene, she flips out at her husband Odin over Thor's banishment and in the [[Film/ThorTheDarkWorld sequel]], Frigga not only dies protecting Jane from Malekith but she's the reason why Loki isn't executed at the start of the movie. [[spoiler: In ''Film/AvengersEndgame'', Frigga comforts her [[TheWoobie emotionally broken]] [[TimeTravel time-traveling]] son Thor in a PreSacrificeFinalGoodbye]].

** Ying Li from ''Film/ShangChiAndTheLegendOfTheTenRings'' for her children Shang-Chi and Xialing. [[spoiler: As seen when the Iron Gang, enemies of her husband Xu Wenwu aka the Mandarin, invade their home and threaten Ying Li and her children, she sends her kids away and proceeds to [[OneWomanArmy take on all the men herself even though there's dozens of them]] and she's [[BroughtDownToNormal lost]] her KiManipulation after leaving Ta Lo. She succeeds in protecting her son and daughter but is killed in process [[HarmfulToMinors as little Shang-Chi watches on]]. Her death made Xu Wenwu, who had been a RetiredMonster through his wife's influence, go on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge.]]

** Queen Atlanna, mother of Arthur Curry aka Film/{{Aquaman}}, shows her Mama Bear status when King Orvax (whom she does not love) [[CrazyJealousGuy sends soldiers]] to attack the lighthouse where she’s living with her human husband Thomas and her son Arthur. [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RaSfMCaCnKc Atlanna gloriously kicks all of their asses to protect her family]]. She only surrenders and goes back to the ocean because she doesn’t want to endanger her husband and son’s lives any longer.

* In the 95's version of '[Film/{{Village of the Damned|1995}}'', the school teacher Jill refuses to give up on her son David aka one of the {{creepy child}}ren and keeps protecting him no matter what. Both Jill's love for him and the death of his "twin" are the big factors in David becoming the WhiteSheep of the group [[spoiler: and both mother and son's survival]].

* ''Film/Terminator2JudgementDay'': Sarah Connor. Saving the world ''from nuclear annihilation'' is considered an incidental bonus to saving her son from the machine sent back to kill him. This gets cranked up to eleven in [[Series/TerminatorTheSarahConnorChronicles the series]].

* In the 95's version of ''[[Film/VillageOfTheDamned1995 Village of the Damned]]'', the school teacher Jill refuses to give up on her son David aka one of the {{creepy child}}ren and keeps protecting him no matter what. * The makers of ''Film/{{Chang}}'', a 1927 documentary about life in Thailand, staged most of the action for the cameras--a common tactic for documentaries of the day. In one scene they separated a mother elephant from her cub, and tied up the cub to the raised hut that was part of the set. The mama elephant was released offscreen, and as the filmmakers anticipated, it charged in and freed its cub. What they didn't anticpate was the mama elephant then proceeding to tear the hut to pieces.

** Melina Vostokoff from ''Film/BlackWidow2021'' may formerly have been TheAce DarkChick MadScientist for the Soviet Armed Forces, but she came to see her staged daughters, Natasha and Yelena, [[BecomingTheMask as her own and genuinely loves them]]. When the time comes to protect them again, she’ll betray the BigBad and blow up his AirborneAircraftCarrier to save her daughters.

** Martha Kent provides a touching, non-violent [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=piDanlCBoDI&t=57s variation]] in a flashBack in ''Film/ManOfSteel''. Clark is having a SensoryOverload at school and hides in a closet, using HeatVision on the doorknob when the teacher tries to open it. Martha comes into the school and instead of trying to force her son out, she soothes him telling him to focus solely on her voice and “make the world small”. Clark soon calms down, and opens the closet to hug his mom. Martha, in addition to helping Clark manage his powers also made sure a ''Film/{{Brightburn}}'' situation [[UpbringingMakesTheHero was thoroughly avoided]].

* Pamela Voorhees, the killer of the first ''Film/FridayThe13th1980'' movie, goes completely psycho and goes on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge after finding out that her son Jason drowned in Crystal Lake because [[DeathBySex two camp counselors who were supposed to be watching him were getting groiny with each other instead.]] Her bloody path of destruction is only stopped by FinalGirl Alice, who chops off her head in the final showdown. And then Jason [[NotQuiteDead emerges from hiding]] and eventually [[BackFromTheDead returns from the dead]] to start a rampage of his own...

** ''Film/DoctorStrangeInTheMultiverseOfMadness'' provides a villainous example [[spoiler: with Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch. She loves her sons Billy and Tommy with every fiber of her being, and after the events of ''Series/WandaVision'' where she has to wake up every day without them as well her as husband Vision, while dreaming of her {{Alternate Sel|f}}ves' lives with their families every night, she was eventually [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds pushed over the deep end]], not helped by the corrupting influence of the Darkhold. Now for the sake of being a mother to her sons again, Wanda will summon super demons, cut through armies of wizards and ComicBook/TheIlluminati like a hot knife through butter, fight Doctor Strange the Sorcerer Supreme and yes, even [[WouldHurtAChild sacrifice a teenage girl]] for the sake of getting her multiverse-hopping power so she can KillAndReplace the Wanda of Earth 838. Subverted ultimately though, as when face to face with Billy and Tommy again and seeing the utter terror her own sons have of her, Wanda has a HeelRealization at how far she's fallen and destroys Wundagore Castle along with herself as a last act of redemption. A traditonal example is Earth 838 Wanda, an innocent woman just protecting her children from her twisted AlternateSelf.]]
