* TabletopGame/DisneyLorcana players can do this if they put enough villains in their decks. The story itself also features Ursula teaming up with Prince Hans, and considers other team-ups to help further her plots against the heroes.
* In the TabletopGame/MagicTheGathering expansion Outlaws of Thunder Junction, the trickster planeswalker Oko plans a heist on the titular plain and, now that anyone can travel between planes, recruits an interplanar crew of villains from previous sets to assist him: demon lord Rakdos, warlock Kaervek, ninja gangster Satoru Umezawa, miniature skeleton thief Tinybones, necromancers Gisa and Geralf Cecani, the witch Eriette, and gorgon assassin Vraska (who recruits her own former pirate crew members Malcolm and Breeches).
* The plot of the TabletopGame/MutantsAndMasterminds HalloweenEpisode adventure Monster Mash is that Randall Fox, a has-been ghosthunter, has arranged a Halloween event in TabletopGame/FreedomCity riffing on old horror movies, with the deliberate intent of riling up Silver Scream (the ghost of a 50s scream queen, who appears to seek vengence on those who disparage her life or career) so he can publically trap her. What he didn't count on was that one of the other films starred Emerald City's Madame Macabre (Elvira as magically-empowered villainess), who disrupts his binding ritual to get her own revenge on the event. While Macabre is initially annoyed that there's something else going on that spoils her big entrance, the default assumption is that the two former actresses will decide that their goals coincide and work together. However, it's possible for the heroes to convince one or both that the other is "upstaging" her, and needs to be taken care of before Randall is punished for his disrespect.

** Celesto Morgan, Jacob Deegan and the Chosen all teamed up for the "Storm of Souls" arc, each for different reasons: Celesto wanted revenge on Dominic for his hand in killing Amelia Travoria (later shifting to "cleansing" the world with the titular Storm), Jacob wanted revenge of Rillian for stripping some of his necromantic powers after the former started this mess with his experiments and the Chosen wanted to unleash the Storm on the world.
** The "March Across Maltak" arc saw Jacob join forces with the Shintula orc tribe. Jacob wanted to study the mass death on Maltak while the Shintula sought to extend their dominance over the land. This one didn't work out as Jacob ticked off the Shintula chief enough to .
** During the final arcs, the Infernomancer teamed up with . The Infernomancer was just in it for the power boost, not indicating he supported their goal of

* Chapter 157 / Episode 42 of Manga/AssassinationClassroom shows us that Shiro has joined forces with .
* Defied in Manga/Bleach: Yhwach made a point about visiting the last major villain, Aizen, in his prison cell to offer him to join his army. Aizen refused, presumably because his AGodAmI delusions of godhood left him too proud to become anyone's henchman, even if the person making the offer was capable of one-shotting an enemy that Aizen wasn't willing to approach without major preparations. [[spoiler:Instead, Aizen ends up helping the heroes defeat Yhwach.]]
* In the Manga/Devilman versus Manga/GetterRobo Crossover, the demons team up with the Dinosaur Empire.
* Franchise/DragonBall:
** In Anime/DragonBallZ Cell, Frieza, and his QuirkyMinibossSquad teamed up to take over Hell. They got along surprisingly well.
** In Anime/DragonBallGT practically everyone the protagonists had ever killed teamed up in Hell to try to get revenge, though most of them were just used as distractions until Dr. Myuu and Dr. Gero could create Super Android 17.
** In the movie Fusion Reborn the villains escaped from Hell as a result of Janemba’s reality warping. However, nearly all of them were reduced to cameos and the only one of them who got any real screentime was Frieza, who would end up being quickly killed by Gohan.
* In the episode of Manga/InuYasha entitled 'Naraku and Sesshomaru Join Forces'...Take a wild guess.
* In the Anime/MazingerZ versus Manga/Devilman feature, Dr. Hell and the demons collaborate to take down Kouji Kabuto and Devilman. It may be subverted, since Hell used a mind-control device to enslave the demons, and he was mainly interested on taking down Mazinger Z (he only sent some demons and Mechanical Beasts against Devilman because the demons warned him he would interfere).
* Malik/Marik and Yami Bakura from Anime/YuGiOh Battle City arc.
* In the Manga/MagicKnightRayearth anime, Alcyone proposes this with Ascot (they're both minions of the BigBad, but they work independently). He follows her lead in good faith, but she tricks him into giving one of his beloved creatures a DeadlyUpgrade and then freezes him solid when he gets upset, laughing over his gullibility.
* Manga/Naruto:
** Kabuto and end up doing this.
** Kabuto takes it a step further with his [[spoiler:mass resurrection jutsu of almost every big name character to ever die in the seriesThe former Hokages were all unavailable because their souls were sealed in the Shinigami's stomach, and Jiraiya's body was so deep underwater that Kabuto was unable to recover a DNA sample for the jutsu. And Orochimaru wasn't completely dead thanks to the cursed seals. At least in the anime, literally every other relevant character who had died up to that point in the series was revived as part of Kabuto's zombie army., forcing them to work together against the protagonists]]. They are mostly villains, but they also include some heroes [[spoiler:who are implanted with seals that force them to obey Kabuto]].
* The final arc of Anime/TigerAndBunny saw a Villain Team Up of BigBad and villain from one of the earlier episodes, . They got along very well, despite that one of them was NEXT-hater and the other was secretly a NEXT himself .
* In Manga/OnePiece, "pirate alliances" are commonplace, and while they don't always involve villains (for example, Luffy's Straw Hat Pirates form an alliance with Trafalgar Law's Heart Pirates), evil pirates do in fact outnumber good ones and such alliances are usually villain team-ups.
* This happened quite frequently in early Anime/PrettyCureAllStars movies- the second movie, for instance, sees villains from the first four seasons revived and teaming up, while the third saw all the previous movie villains teaming up.

* The 1966 Film/BatmanTheMovie featured a team-up between Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman.
** Several of the TV episodes of that series featured team-ups between various villains, they did no better or worse than usual against Batman.
* Film/BatmanForever has Riddler and Two Face team up, while Film/BatmanAndRobin has Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy team up (whether Bane is a villain or a henchman, you pick). In the latter's case Ivy is manipulating Freeze, which doesn't work out for well for her when he finds out. Film/BatmanReturns deconstructs this trope, showing Catwoman and the Penguin working together for all of five minutes before breaking it off.
* Film/BatmanBegins has the Scarecrow initially working with Falcone, and unwittingly working for Ra's Al Ghul. Film/TheDarkKnight is borderline, as the Joker creates the second villain but never truly works with him; however, the Joker does initially work with the mob. In Film/TheDarkKnightRises, Selina Kyle being blackmailed into providing some assistance to Bane is borderline given she becomes more of an Anti Heroine later and ... but [[spoiler:Talia Al Ghul being the woman behind the man]] is a definite case.
* Series/KamenRiderDenO: Climax Deka features the Imagin Negataros forms an "evil syndicate", and to strengthen their numbers, he recruited Fangire into his cause. In turn, this necessitates the arrival of the Fangires' main enemy, Series/KamenRiderKiva, to come to the aid of Den-O and his allies.
* All of the Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse films feature this:
** Film/IronMan featured the Ten Rings terrorist group teaming up with .
** Film/TheIncredibleHulk had General Ross and Emil Blonsky, before [[spoiler:Blonsky teamed up with Samuel Stern/The Leader to turn into The Abomination, forcing Ross to team up with the heroes to beat him]].
** Film/IronMan2 had Whiplash team up with Justin Hammer, although their alliance was short-lived.
** Film/Thor gets twisty. Loki manages to convince Laufey of Jotunheim that they're working towards the same end .
** Film/CaptainAmericaTheFirstAvenger had the ComicBook/RedSkull and Arnim Zola.
** The Avengers had Loki and the Chitauri soldiers, later revealed to be an army controlled by .
** Film/IronMan3 had The Mandarin and , along with Coldblood.
** Film/ThorTheDarkWorld featured Malekith the Accursed and Algrim, who becomes Kurse.
** Film/CaptainAmericaTheWinterSoldier had the eponymous Winter Soldier, Crossbones and all working for . Batroc the Leaper appears to be working with them as well,
** Film/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy had Ronan the Accuser allying with Nebula, who's acting as an emissary of Thanos.
** Film/AvengersAgeOfUltron had Ultron team up with They defect to the heroes' side once they find out what Ultron's ultimate goal is.
** Film/AntMan1 comes the closest to averting this, but near the end it's revealed that Darren Cross has been knowingly associating with and is preparing to sell them the Yellowjacket and Ant-Man suits.
** Film/CaptainAmericaCivilWar inverts this: the most teaming up that the main antagonist Helmut Zemo does is through coercion with mostly unwilling partners. The main team-ups are done by the opposing groups of heroes, and which side is the more antagonistic one is left up to the viewer.
** Doctor Strange featured the sorcerer Kaecilius and his zealots attempting to contact the cosmic being Dormammu in order for him to bring about the engulfment of earth into the Dark Dimension.
** Film/GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol2 had Nebula team up with a group of rogue Ravagers to overthrow Yondu, and said Ravagers also have dealings with Ayesha of the Sovereigns to help her get revenge on the Guardians. None of them however team up with the film's main villain , and teams up with the Guardians to help take down.
** Film/SpiderManHomecoming featured the Vulture employing the Tinkerer, Darter, Montana, and the Shocker, and selling weapons to the Scorpion. The Prowler attempts to buy weapons for him as well, . It's also implied that the Prowler at one point had dealings with the Scorpion before the events of the film.
** Film/ThorRagnarok had Hela team up with Skurge to take over Asgard, while on the planet Sakaar, Scrapper 142 collects prisoners for the Grandmaster. Both underlings end up . Loki naturally switches sides a few times before ending the movie on side. The movie also features an interesting variation on this trope: .
** Black Panther had Killmonger teaming up with Klaue to steal some Vibranium and sell it on the black market. .
** Film/AvengersInfinityWar featured Thanos teaming up with the Black Order (referred to in-film as the "Children of Thanos") in order to retrieve the Infinity Stones. Subverted with Loki, who attempts to re-form his alliance with Thanos from the first Avengers film; .
** Film/AntManAndTheWasp had the Ghost and , but neither of them . The film's other major antagonist, Sonny Burch, has contacts within the FBI but beyond that does not team up with any of the other villains.
** Captain Marvel featured teaming up with Ronan the Accuser to take down the title character near the end of the film, though Ronan does it under the impression that they're wiping out a Skrull invasion on Planet C-53 .
** Film/AvengersEndgame has Thanos once again teaming up with the Black Order. [[spoiler:As the movie is a time travel film that has the heroes going back to the events of The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World and Guardians of the Galaxy, then the team-ups featured in those films are technically implied in Endgame, with Thanos from 2014 at one point discussing his team-up with Ronan and recognizing The Avengers from 2023 due to his team-up with Loki in the first Avengers film.]]
** Film/SpiderManFarFromHome features .
* Franchise/SpiderMan:
** Film/TheAmazingSpiderMan2 has a villain team up between Harry Osborn/The Goblin and Max Dillon/Electro. The alliance is shaky (since Dillon doesn't have any sentiment for Harry due to his background with Oscorp; Harry brokers the team-up by saying both of them were shafted by Oscorp) but Dillon's desire to strike back at Oscorp and Spider-Man is enough to get them working together. At the end, Harry
** Film/SpiderMan3 has a team up with Sandman and Venom, with New Goblin just sort of hanging around.
* Film/Superman II has Lex Luthor initiate a team up with the 3 Kryptonians, but ends up with the short end of the stick very quickly.
* Franchise/SuperSentai crossover movies typically have the current villain group team up with the remnants of the previous villain group.
* Film/XMenTheLastStand had Magneto convince Jean Grey in Phoenix form to work together; sadly, this was because
* Film/Glass, the third in Creator/MNightShyamalan's superhero trilogy, has Mister Glass (the villain of Film/Unbreakable) and the Horde (the villain of Film/Split) incarcerated in the same psychiatric institution, along with David Dunn. Glass convinces the Horde to team up, break out of the institution and cause havoc, forcing Dunn to break out too.

Creator/PaulMcCartney song "Magneto & Titanium Man" is a villain or a henchman, you pick).
** Doctor Strange featured the sorcerer Kaecilius and his zealots attempting to contact the cosmic being Dormammu in order for him to bring
about the engulfment of earth into the Dark Dimension.
** Film/SpiderManFarFromHome features [[spoiler:Quentin Beck and a bunch of other disgruntled ex-Stark Industries employees
titular Marvel comics supervillains teaming up to create the Elementals rob a bank, and Mysterio]].
* Franchise/SpiderMan:
* Film/XMenTheLastStand had Magneto convince Jean Grey in Phoenix form to work together; sadly, this was because
* Film/Glass, the third in Creator/MNightShyamalan's superhero trilogy, has Mister Glass (the villain of Film/Unbreakable) and the Horde (the villain of Film/Split) incarcerated in the same psychiatric institution,
dragging fellow supervillain Crimson Dynamo along with David Dunn. Glass convinces for the Horde to team up, break out of the institution and cause havoc, forcing Dunn to break out too.

* As expected, this happens in Series/TheFlash2014. First, there are the Rogues (Leonard "Captain Cold" Snart, Mick "Heat Wave" Rory, and Lisa "Golden Glider" Snart). Then there are the two Tricksters. And later we have Mark "Weather Wizard" Mardon breaking the older Trickster and Cold out of jail in an attempt to team up against the Flash. Cold ends up walking away and even warning Barry, as Barry has saved his sister a few episodes earlier (plus, it's Christmas). The Trickster and Mardon, however, do nearly succeed in killing Barry (). There are also the Reverse-Flash and Gorilla Grodd, although, in a weird way, it's more of a father-son relationship.
* Series/Gotham does this frequently. Examples include Penguin and the Riddler; the Riddler, Tabitha Galavan, and Barbara Kean; Penguin and Ivy; and Jerome, Scarecrow, and Mad Hatter. * Franchise/PowerRangers:
** Series/PowerRangersInSpace: There was the United Alliance of Evil, a group formed by Dark Spectre and comprised of the villains from the first five seasons, namely Lord Zedd, Rita Repulsa, the Machine Empire and Divatox.
** PowerRangersLostGalaxy: Trakeena teams up with the PsychoRangers to defeat the Galaxy Rangers. This necessitates the Galaxy Rangers team up with the Space Rangers.
** In Series/PowerRangersDinoThunder, when Lothor returned, he briefly teamed up with Mesogog. After the Rangers foiled their plan, Mesogog ended the alliance and the two villains fought each other. Mesogog won.
** In Series/PowerRangersSPD, when Emperor Grumm went back in time, he teamed up with Zeltrax.
** With four villain factions in Series/PowerRangersOperationOverdrive, it was unavoidable there'd be some occasional team ups but the most memorable was when Thrax, the son of Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd, temporarily united all of them against the Power Rangers. The villains made it quite clear they'd only be united against the Rangers and, after the heroes were permanently dealt with, the factions would war among themselves again. Well, it was said at the top of the page the villains usually only team up to destroy the heroes. That alliance ended when Thrax was destroyed.
** This happens pretty much anytime there is a Power Rangers team-up.
* Series/Revolution: Monroe and Randall Flynn ally in the second half of the season, starting at the end of episode 11.
* Series/Smallville: There have been a few villain team-ups. Firstly, in season 3, three of the meteor freaks Clark Kent had taken down teamed up to steal his powers and escape. There have also been team-ups between Brainiac and Bizarro, Lex and Toyman, and recently several Superman villains from the comics were teamed up by [=LuthorCorp=] to become Smallville's version of the Injustice Gang.
* Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine: The Cardassians and the Dominion form an alliance in the last few seasons, which eventually expands to include the Breen.
* Series/Supernatural:

** Seasons before any of them, "Fresh Blood" had a team-up between the show's at-the-time-only-two recurring human villains, Bela Talbot and Gordon Walker.
* TV Colosso: There was a sketch named "As Aventuras do Super Cão" (The Adventures of Super Dog. Not that superdog). * Series/Angel: Wolfram and Hart were prone to this. In the first season, they enlisted Faith. In the second, they brought back Darla and then had Drusilla vamp her (it went badly for them). They also attempted to ally
TabletopGame/SentinelsOfTheMultiverse, with or control Holtz and the Beast, unsuccessfully.
* Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer:
** In "The Yoko Factor", Adam recruits Spike to help tear the Scooby Gang apart.
** Spike promises Xander and Giles a team-up with Faith after she awakes from her coma, but it doesn't pan out.
** There's one between Faith and Mayor Wilkins that lasts for about half of S3.
** On a larger scale, one of Adam's goals in S4 is to unite vampires and demons.
* Series/BurnNotice: In the episode "Dead" Larry Sizemore and Tyler Brennen, two of Michael Westen's worst enemies, team up. Their partnership lasted just half the episode, since Larry
* Series/ElChapulinColorado: Tripaseca, Cuajináis, Chory and La Minina all team-up in episode ¡No seas torpe, Chapulín! trying to trick the heroe into using his chiquitolina pills and crush him. Thankfully TheGoodGuysAlwaysWin.
* Series/Defiance: Near the end of the first season, Datak allies with the corrupt Earth Republic (represented by Colonel Marsh) in order to and help Datak win the mayoral election. In exchange, the plan is that Datak will help the E-Rep gain control of Rafe's mines (with Datak getting a sizable chunk of the profits). [[spoiler:Then, in the season finale, it turns out Marsh was just using Datak to take over the town and get to the ancient Votan ship buried underneath it. * Series/DoctorWho:
** The last few scenes of "Frontier in Space" reveal that the Master has, for the whole story, been acting as a PsychoForHire for the Daleks.
** Part of the plot of "The Mark of the Rani", wherein the Master and the Rani team up against the Sixth Doctor, though it's not really a mutual agreement. The Master blackmails and bribes the Rani into cooperating with him, and when he eventually botches the entire plan due to his obsession with the Doctor, the Rani registers her displeasure.
** A comic strip from the 1990s parodies this, with an omnipotent superbeing
Baron Blade uniting all the Doctor's enemies together as one super-army, and then siccing them on all (then) eight Doctors. The Doctors point out the obvious flaw in the logic of bad guys all of whom they'd already defeated uniting to try and defeat them again... and then go on to defeat them all again.
** "Doomsday" edTropes this; the Cybermen offer the Daleks an alliance. The Daleks instinctively refuse. The rest of the episode involves the Daleks and the Cybermen kicking the snot out of each other, with the Doctor and the humans trapped in the middle.

** The end of "Dark Water" reveals that Missy has been working with the Cybermen all along, and that she herself is [[spoiler:the Master... erm, Mistress.]]
* As expected, this happens in Series/TheFlash2014. First, there are the Rogues (Leonard "Captain Cold" Snart, Mick "Heat Wave" Rory, and Lisa "Golden Glider" Snart). Then there are the two Tricksters. And later we have Mark "Weather Wizard" Mardon breaking the older Trickster and Cold out of jail in an attempt to
team up against the Flash.
These alliances usually eventually fall apart, although a few of the
minor villains seem to have allies that they respect and/or are less willing to betray. Jerome, a captain ersatz for take out the Joker, at one point actually calls his alliance with the Scarecrow, the Mad Hatter and a few other Freedom Five. More minor villains a "Legion of Horribles", and then makes them all sit through a mandatory brunch meeting together while discussing their evil plans.
* Series/Heroes: Season Three is about [[spoiler: every villain still alive being united
turned up to serve Arthur Petrelli.]]
* The Series/Highlander two-parter, "Unholy Alliance", in which James Horton and Xavier St. Cloud
join the team up.
* The Ecoloco from Series/OdiseaBurbujas teams up
with Peter Punk and Socapa, respectively, in different episodes.
* Franchise/PowerRangers:
** Series/PowerRangersInSpace: There was the United Alliance of Evil, a group formed by Dark Spectre and comprised
Villains of the villains from the first five seasons, namely Lord Zedd, Rita Repulsa, the Machine Empire and Divatox.
* Series/Supernatural:
** Crowley manages to temporarily team up with Raphael in the sixth season finale after , but that lasted all of ten minutes before .
** Both Crowley and the Alpha Vampire attempt to pull one with Dick Roman in the following season (Crowley even bakes gluten-free baby uvula muffins for the occasion!), but both get shot down.
In one episode, the villains teamed up and the eponymous hero wasn't worried. The villains argued about who had the idea one of them was presenting.

* Videogame/BatmanArkhamKnight deals with an alliance of Batman's rogue gallery led by Scarecrow to deal with Batman once and for all. Specifically they all chipped in to pay the cost of the army, the mysterious Arkham Knight led it, was the secondary commander, helped develop the Cloudburst, and the Penguin supplied weapons. Otherwise, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, Penguin, Riddler, and Firefly all made a point to to cause as much chaos as possible in the hope of spreading Batman too thin. The Riddler however is quite insistent that he isn't working with them. He just so happened to pick the same night. It's a total coincidence. on the other hand didn't seem to be involved, and their operating on the same night may have actually been a coincidence.
** Supervillians outside of the normal Batman continuity also contributed. It's hinted that a lot of the financing of the $3 billion army came from ComicBook/LexLuthor. Luthor himself also leaves Bruce Wayne a voicemail all but demanding he sell the Waynetech applied science division to him for $1 billion.
* There are varying degrees of cooperation between the villains in Videogame/BatmanArkhamAsylum and VideoGame/BatmanArkhamCity, but the amount they can said to be working together is debatable:
** In Asylum: While The Riddler is implied to be giving technical support to the Joker and Quinn, Sacrecrow and Zasz seem to have simply been released to make things difficult for Batman and aren't really working with he Joker. is an unwilling accomplice to Joker and so they aren't working together. Joker also refuses to release Poison Ivy, and once Harley does anyway, both swear to kill each other after Batman has been dealt with.
** In City, things get even more complex: Strange turns out to be working for , the Mad Hatter was manipulated into helping them control the TYGER guards and (and he was thrown into Arkham City once that was done), and they hire Deadshot to kill people with important information. The Joker is forcing Mister Freeze to work for him (who turns on him the moment he can), and has as a willing accomplice. The Penguin has as a secret weapon, but given that its the cooperation is probably minimal.
* Being a CrisisCrossover title, Videogame/DissidiaFinalFantasy features one of these involving every main villain from the first ten games of the main series (plus Gabranth), in direct opposition to the heroes from their respective games (plus Shantotto). However, the Warriors of Chaos are not as united as those of Cosmos; some of them seek to overthrow Chaos, others want to destroy everything, and the rest either don't care about the conflict or have agendas of their own. [[spoiler:Golbez, in particular, is actively working against them from the inside to help the Cosmos Warriors.]]
* VideoGame/Hearthstones Year of the Dragon block was based on this, with five villains from previous years - Dr. Boom, Hagatha, King Togwaggle, Madame Lazul, and Rafaam - all teaming up to get revenge on the good guys who mucked up their plans. Rise of Shadows was their VillainEpisode, Saviors of Uldum gave us the League of Explorers to oppose them, and Descent of Dragons was the final showdown.
* Franchise/KingdomHearts is not a straight example, since they teamed up to TakeOverTheWorld([=s=]) rather then to beat up the hero, but Maleficent teams up with Captain Hook, Oogie Boogie, Jafar, Ursula, Hades, and, later on, WesternAnimation/Pete, Captain Barbossa and Scar. One of the few villain alliances that actually managed to keep itself united without any form of internal struggles or betrayals entering the picture (the same can't be said about Organization XIII).
* VideoGame/LastCloudia: Tsukasa teams up with Lily in the Manga/DrStone crossover campaign Tsukasa Shishio's Challenge to take out several monsters in hopes of getting back to his home world. He doesn't trust her however which is something she picks up. [[spoiler:The distrust comes to a head when she unleashes monsters on two children]].
* In VideoGame/MassEffect2, the vigilante Archangel was such a royal pain in the ass that Omega's major mercenary groups put their differences aside to hunt just ONE guy.
* The story in VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom3 revolves around Doctor Doom and Albert Wesker leading a villain team up, which includes ComicBook/Magneto, Super-Skrull, Dormammu and ComicBook/MODOK. They also hired Taskmaster according to the promotional comic, but he seems to remain neutral to maximize his own personal gain.
* Franchise/MortalKombat:
** VideoGame/MortalKombatDeadlyAlliance has, well, the Deadly Alliance, consisting of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, who form an alliance to kill the two people who possess the biggest threats to them (Liu Kang and Shao Kahn) and conquer the realms using the lost army of the Dragon King.
** In VideoGame/MortalKombatArmageddon[='=]s Konquest mode, Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, Shao Kahn, and Onaga form an "alliance of traitors", as Onaga refers to it.
* Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics has Bowser and Dr. "Eggman" Robotnik scheme to melt all the snow in the world by capturing the Snow Spirits. They got at it again in the London 2012 sequel, this time creating an artificial thick fog to ruin the London games.
* VideoGame/SuperSmashBros:
** The Subspace Emissary mode of Brawl starts out with one of these, involving Ganondorf, Bowser, Wario, King Dedede, Master Hand, and with special guest appearances by Petey Piranha, Rayquaza, Ridley, and Porky Minch. It quickly unravels though when Ganondorf attempts to backstab everyone, Dedede turns out to be a good guy, and then turns into a full-blown EnemyMine when the real BigBad is revealed.
** There are some lesser versions in event matches and what not. The showdown of Melee has Giga Bowser, Ganondorf and Mewtwo as a team vs whatever character you chose. Brawl has the Final Battle (Bowser, Ganondorf and Dedede team up), Two Trouble Kings (Bowser and King Dedede against Mario or Mario and Kirby), and the Final Battle for Two (two chararacters of player choice against Bowser, Ganondorf, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Wolf and Wario).
** The endgame of World of Light in VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate [[spoiler:has Galeem and Dharkon teaming up against the fighters... and we're using the words "team up" very loosely. It's more along the lines of dumping spare Spirits and their remaining caged fighters against you while they continue their personal vendetta with each other, and even when you get in their faces, they simply will not pass up a single opportunity to backstab each other while trying to dispose of you, and could care less if their attacks hurt the other in the way of killing you.]]
* VideoGame/SonicGenerations has
* VideoGame/SonicLostWorld subverts this by having Dr. Eggman "team up" with the Deadly Six by controlling them with a pain-inducing horn. The alliance lasts until Sonic knocks the horn away and frees the Deadly Six from his control. Oops!
* Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric has Dr. Eggman and Lyric team up very briefly, before Lyric decides Eggman isn't very useful to him. [[spoiler:This ultimately bites Lyric in the bum hard because Eggman shows up for revenge just in time to soften him up before Sonic's final battle with him, as well as take him down when Sonic's on the ropes.]]
* Because of the nature of the game, this happens in VideoGame/SuperRobotWars frequently and in nearly every game. Who teams up with who and for what reasons often vary, depending on the game. The first game has the Principality of Zeon, Doctor Hell and the Dinosaur Empire being mind controlled by ancient evil mecha. The second game has the villains united into Divine Crusaders by Brian Zoldak, an alliance that has fallen apart only in the sequel, when the Zabi familly took over after Zoldak's death and soon they started fighting each other. In VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsJudgment ZAFT can be found helping the Jovian army. Dr. Hell (see the Anime section) hires Gauron in VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsJudgment, works with Zeon in VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsAlpha and works with the Galra Empire in VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsW.
* VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsBX
** The Jovians and the Vagans.
** The Primevals seem to have an alliance with the Jaaku Empire.
** The forces of Drake and Marder.
** Kiba is now working for Dr. Hell.
* VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV:
** The Jupiter Empire ally themselves with Gamilas. They are later joined by the alliance of Neo-Zeon and Amalgam.
** The World of Mana has formed alliances with Amalgam, the Earth Alliance, Logos, and supports the Martian Successors.
** Leonard and Amalgam, as well as the remnants of the Martian Successors, later decide to join up with Embryo and his Diamond Rose Knights. Stage 35 even has this alliance support that of Gamilas, the Jupiter Empire, and Neo-Zeon, making for a stage where you have to fight all of the non-Federation human enemy groups (with about 10 bosses).
** Creator/NobuyukiHiyama confirmed via Bandai's product launch eve event Team Wolfgang, The Asian Mafia, Shadow Army, and The Pink Cats never once worked together in their series. [=SRW=]-V marks their first ever team-up to take on The Brave Express Team.
* VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsX:
** On the one hand, Zogilia and the Captial Army end up cooperating with each other soon after both land in Al Warth, with remnants of the Mariemaia army being added in. They all end up joining under the Misurugi Empire, and then Neo Atlantis decides to join up.
** On the other, Todd and a bunch of Byston Well soldiers (presumably survivors of Drake and Bishot's armies), Viral and his Beastman subordinates, Dr. Hell's forces, and all of the Nouvelle Tokyo criminals, who calls themselves the "BD (Black Diamond) Alliance"Using the 2nd ending theme title from Might Gaine. this time around, joins under Doakudar's army. Jeremiah and Anya also cooperate with them against their former allies Kallen and Suzaku, .
** Outside of those 2, Char has become part of Towasanga.
** Yazan, Rakan and Glemmy join up with the G-IT Corps. Eventually, both Towasanga and the G-IT Corps join under Misurugi.
** The Holy Britannian Empire and Drake's army did this prior to the game's events. However, as both stories are finished by the time of the plot starts, that's all done with.
** [[spoiler:Olympus, aka the Mycenae Empire, are allied with Doakudar, as part of their "Ancient Contract."]]
** [[spoiler:Lady Marianne and Shot Weapon are working alongside Embryo, who also has a long-standing alliance with Gargoyle.]]
* VideoGame/MegaManX 5 does this by way of implication. He never shows up on screen, but given all the callbacks, and the overall plan Sigma has, it's obvious that Dr. Wily is somehow teaming up with him. WordOfGod later confirmed he was brought back to life by the Maverick Virus somehow.
* While the original version of VideoGame/TalesOfVesperia has them fight you separately, the [=PS3=] version gets Dhaos, Shizel, Barbatos Goetia... and Kratos Aurion together for an epic four vs. four battle in the Merciless rank of the team arena.
* Pre-release footage of VideoGame/SonicForces has shown Shadow the Hedgehog, Chaos, Zavok, and Metal Sonic (from VideoGame/SonicAdventure2, VideoGame/SonicAdventure, VideoGame/SonicLostWorld, and VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehogCD respectively) standing together in opposition of the two Sonics and the custom hero character, apparently having aligned with Eggman in this reality (this despite the fact that Shadow and Chaos have never been seen as strictly evil up to this point). Also joining them is a new antagonist by the name of "Infinite".
* This is actually a very common strategy in online games where multiple human players fight, most commonly in team-based games. While this is a JustifiedTrope in team-based games, it can sometimes go into EnemyMine or KickTheDog territory when the game doesn't have any teams.
* In VideoGame/PokemonUltraSunAndUltraMoon, Team Rainbow Rocket is lead by a band of the team leaders from all the previous generations: Giovanni from the original Team Rocket, Archie and Maxie from Team Magma and Team Aqua, Cyrus from Team Galactic, Ghetsis from Team Plasma, and Lysandre from Team Flare. The main exception is Guzma of Team Skull, who at this point and , with their representative being .
* In the final act of Videogame/SouthParkTheFracturedButWhole, several of the enemy factions (Sixth Graders, Rednecks, Raisin Girls, Ninjas, Crab People) join forces against you simply because they really hate you. From that point on they'll fight you in regular overworld battles in a group rather than as different factions.
* The [=PS1=] VideoGame/SpiderMan sees this as its plot, with [[spoiler:ComicBook/DoctorOctopus and ComicBook/Carnage as the BigBadDuumvirate, and Mysterio, the Rhino, and the Jade Syndicate working with them. The only two villain who weren't were Scorpion, who just decided to seek revenge on Jameson at the same time, and ComicBook/Venom, who mistook the disguised Mysterio for the real Spider-Man.]]
* On the topic of Spider-Man, the PS4 game has Spidey take on a new incarnation of the Sinister Six, united and led by and comprised of Mr. Negative, Electro, the Vulture, Rhino and Scorpion. The mastermind, sharing similar grievances to Mr. Negative with regards to , brought the rest of them together with promises that aligned with their respective agendas. Scorpion has debts he needs repaid, Vulture seeks a cure for his spinal cancer, Rhino wants help with removing his ClingyCostume, and Electro... wants to be converted into AGodAmI pure living energy.
* VideoGame/NamcoXCapcom has a big one between villains from pretty much every franchise on the roster, but aside from original villain Saya and her boss, the ringleaders consist of M. Bison, Druaga, Asteroth, Nebiros, Grandmaster Meio, Yoritomo, and Zouna.

* A MassiveMultiplayerCrossover web series example, the Los no Frollos organization in WebAnimation/TheFrolloShow consists of Stocking, Scanty, Kneesocks, Corset, Hades, Batiatus, Marco Antonio Regil, Hans Frollo [[spoiler:(not willingly)]], Achmed Frollo, Jafar, Gwonam, Yusuf, Umlaut, Hitler, Günsche, Dmitri Frollo, Stalin, Yzma, Lemongrab, Wilford Brimley, WebVideo/TheIrateGamer, and Best Hercules. It eventually unravels when , , and [[spoiler:Wilford backstabs the organization and becomes the biggest threat to the world after absorbing Madotsuki's sorrows, forcing the remaining members to team up with Frollo and his allies]].
* WebAnimation/RWBY: Neo uses Little Miss Malachite's services to track down Cinder, seeking revenge for Roman's death while in Cinder's employment. During their fight, Cinder convinces Neo that her blame is misplaced, and that the person she needs to target for revenge is Ruby. Neo stops fighting Cinder when she is given a demonstration of the Fall Maiden's full power, but becomes a little irritated with Cinder's suggestion that they talk it out because she doesn't speak, something Cinder momentarily forgets.

* One story in Webcomic/TheInexplicableAdventuresOfBob has Fructose Riboflavin, the Pirates of Ipecac, and Galatea all teaming up, although the pirates are there against their will, and it's arguable that Galatea doesn't really understand what's going on.
* The Hat and Robo-Cube in Webcomic/StickmanAndCube, although this is more of a hostile takeover on The Hat's part.
* As it's based on the VideoGame/MegaManX series (specifically the game mentioned above), this happens in Burning Stickman Presents...Something!, with a third villain, original to the comic actually being the one to put Sigma and Wily together. Naturally, all three are planning to betray the hell out of each other, though to their credit, they're planning to do it after the Evil Plan plays out.
* Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick:
** The team of Lord Xykon and Redcloak started off as this. The prequel shows that the two first met when Redcloak saw Xykon obliterate a garrison of paladins and, as Redcloak's brother says, "Let's suggest a team-up with him, Marvel style!"
** joins forces with Nale and the Linear Guild.
* Webcomic/TalesFromThePit: The Rules Manager and the copier team up to defeat MaRo! Their evil plan: make duplicate copies of the relevant rules to prevent Mark's new mechanic from seeing print!
* In Webcomic/RPGWorld, Galgarion and are hired by South Corp to take out the main group of heroes. While Galgarion is using South Corp for his own ends, he invites to do the same, effectively making his Dragon.
* In Webcomic/Sonichu a number of villains from the earlier issues (including Dr. Eggman and Giovanni) team up to take over [=CWCVille=] when Chris was away.
* Ian and Anita in the grand finale of Webcomic/ErrantStory.
* The final storyline of Webcomic/TheAdventuresOfDoctorMcNinja has the Doc become cursed with bad luck, leading most of his notable past adversaries to decide to kill him at the same time and team up to do so: King Radical, Donald McBonald, Frans Rayner, Dracula, and even the Doc's morally ambiguous clone Old [=McNinja=]. Oh, and the birdosaurus.

* WebVideo/HeroHouse gives us numerous examples, from multiple franchises, though Skeletor and Hordak are the most prominent.
* In the web novel, Literature/TheImpossibleMan, the villains team up to form The Amalgamated Union of Malicious Malcontents.
* In "Ayla and the Birthday Brawl" of the Literature/WhateleyUniverse, Hekate's unseen master makes her team up with The Necromancer so she has a safe haven from a true Sidhe curse. The same unseen figured gets Don Sebastiano to give them intel, and The Necromancer gets his Children of the Night, the Felonious Four, and Obsession to help him.
* In Literature/Worm, the city's villains are smart enough to temporarily set aside their differences against common OmnicidalManiac threats.

* In the renowned VideoGame/DwarfFortress LetsPlay , a rather hilarious one occurs, when a group of goblins decide to team up with the elephants who were already holding the fortress under siege:
