Added DiffLines:

* In Creator/FranzXaverVonSchonwerth's collection of 19th century Bavarian folklore, "Gypsies" (''"Zigeuner"'') are, as a rule, skilled in magic, and are feared for their curses. For this reason, people take care not to insult Gypsies or to deny a Gypsy's request. It is believed someone cursed by a Gypsy won't ever prosper again. Gypsies can wish lice or fleas on someone or (just like witches) curse cows so they don't give milk anymore. A farmer's wife refused lodging to a band of Gypsies and because of that was cursed by an old Gypsy woman; all the children the women gave birth to from that time on were sickly, crippled, or insane, and the [[HereditaryCurse women's descendants suffer from the curse to this day.]]

* In a Treehouse of Horror episode of ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'', Homer receives a stereotypical gypsy curse that brings misery on all those around him after trashing a fortune teller's office. He gets rid of it by [[FantasyKitchenSink attacking her with a leprechaun]]. The gypsy and the leprechaun then proceed to have sex in front of Homer. The episode ends with them getting married by [[Franchise/StarWars Yoda]], where they proceed to have sex on the altar... It was a "Treehouse of Horror" episode, okay? WEIRD shit happens during those.

* ''Literature/{{Holes}}'' had the Yelnats family subject to a gypsy curse / HereditaryCurse combo. However it was a condition of a promise between friends, and when the Yelnats family ancestor broke his promise, Madame Zeroni cursed him.
