Turning The Page is a fantasy interactive story by Stephen (ret) that is primarily inspired by old gamebooks where the reader could choose the path of the hero. It is hosted by Writing.Com and has hundreds of chapters with dozens upon dozens of potential characters available thanks to the wide array of races and classes that readers can pick from. You can take on the role of a fierce swordsman, cunning mage, deadly archer and much more in this high fantasy interactive where the destiny of the main character is crafted by the various contributors.

This work contains the following tropes:

  • Anti-Hero: In addition to more heroic professions the reader is fully allowed to be a thief, assassin, mercenary, pirate or other type of unsavory individual if they so desire.
  • Elemental Powers: Most wizard characters specialize in and command one particular type of elemental magic like fire or ice.
  • Master of Illusion: If the reader goes the route of the wizard they can choose to specialize in illusion magic.
  • Merchant City: The city of Khachmeruk is situated on the intersection of two great trade routes and is described as a place where anything can be had for the appropriate price.
  • Swamps Are Evil: Duskbloom Marsh is described as being a very unpleasant place filled with all manner of danger and nastiness. This would be bad enough, but there's also a powerful noble who rules the area who's known to be a bit "eccentric."
