Mysticons not only has a TV series, but also a series of chapter books based on original stories.

    Secret Of The Fifth Mysticon 
  • Chekhov's Gun: Em gave Doug a Glimmer Gust toy from the Twinkly Mare convention as a way to thank him for giving up his ticket for it, and he took it with him to the chillwaste. It was later used to solve the final puzzle.
  • Ambition Is Evil: Adakite wanted to be even more respected than the OG Mysticons, and when she wasn't, she changed sides to work with Necrafa
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: The Mysticons' goal to free the spirit of the fifth Mysticon goes wrong when Adakite lied about being the fifth Mysticon, and escaped to get revenge
  • Wrong Assumption: Em firmly believes that Doug will be the fifth Mysticon. turns out there's not a fifth Mysticon, so he isn't

    The Stolen Magic 
  • Create Your Own Villain: Ami wasn’t evil and didn’t purposely take Zarya’s powers, but when the Mysticons attacked her home, she began working with Dreadbane to steal magic.
  • Stage Magician: Amileth can't do any magic on her own, but performs stage magic instead.

    The Diamond Curse 
  • Etiquette Nazi: The main antagonists of the novel, Myrtle and Millicent Murgatroyd, are obsessed with etiquette and cleanliness, to the point that they will allow the Kirin train to crash with everyone inside it if they didn’t feel as though the passengers learned their lesson.
  • The Glorious Warof Sisterly Rivalry: The main antagonists in this story. Myrtle and Millicent, are sisters who argue all the time. They make up at the end
  • Samus Is a Girl: Eddie is a female
  • Secret-Keeper: Eddie, a tour guide for the Kirin train the Mysticons ride, finds out through the train's video cameras that Arkayna, Zarya, and her friends are Mysticons. She keeps it hidden.
