Akira is just having a usual day at his second year of high school when he and his fellow classmates get sucked into another world through a portal! This fantasy land is called Morigan, and is a world filled with Demons, Humans, Elves and other mystical creatures. As they get debriefed by the King of one of the continents on this strange new land, they were informed that each one of them will have a class, which skills can be conveniently opened and analyzed through a "status bar", and their objective is to train, become stronger, and repel the imminent demon invasion.
Only one of them, however, will be able to become the true Hero.
Akira found out that he got the Assassin class and with heavily overpowered stats, surpassing even those of the Hero class. Making use of his shinobi-like skills, including subterfuge, negotiation and stealth, Akira goes into thrilling quests and unveils secrets about this strange new world, including a meeting with a cute Elf girl and other members of a soon-to-be adventuring party where not everything is as it seems...
My Status As An Assassin Obviously Exceeds The Braves provides examples of:
- Beneath Notice: Invoked by Akira. After realizing his stats were so high he activated his stealth skill so the King would overlook him before they could see his stats.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: The King and the Princess's plans to do that to Akira and his entire class. Thankfully, Akira and some of them including The Hero manages to escape this fate.
- Conspiracy: There is some kind of plot the King and the Princess have but it's unknown what it was.
- Don't You Dare Pity Me!: Back in the real world, Akira didn't want Kyousuke to tell anyone he was working a job because of this trope.
- Failed a Spot Check: Akira saw the princess manipulating the Hero with a dark crystal and destroyed it. After he left she reveals she has dark crystals for everyone else in his class.
- Heroic BSoD: Played for Drama: After he fails to slay the Minotaur and Akira calls him out for his Leeroy Jenkins move when he is The Chosen One, Tsukasa curls up into a ball and starts a Madness Mantra. This is O.O.C. Is Serious Business and makes Akira call on a healer and an exorcist. The exorcist realizes that Tsukasa has indeed been cursed, but of a level higher than what she can cure.
- My Greatest Failure: Akira states that not assassinating the King the first chance he had would be the one mistake he is most ashamed of.
- My Skull Runneth Over: Akira suffers info overload the first time he tries to use the Skill Eye of the World.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Knights, Saran Misary and Zeal Asti knew something is up with their majesties and tries to help Akira as best they could. Unfortunately, Saran got found out and was killed to frame Akira.
