THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME!
My Gift to You is a web-novella created by Nat Quin. It follows a young adventurer named Lo, and his best friend, Squiggle. Throughout the story, they travel across the mystical island of Reefance in search of a treasure, meeting new friends along the way. However, as the story unfolds, Lo starts experiencing sudden mood swings and strange visions. Eventually, he must face the deep dark secret he has hidden away from those around him... and himself.
My Gift to You contains examples of:
- Abnormal Allergy: Lo is shown to sneeze in the presence of dark pixie dust. Others around him do not.
- Abnormal Ammo: Winimum Mage shoots seeds out of her magic broomstick that grow into portals, despite also having the ability to instantly open fully-grown portals.
- Abnormal Limb Rotation Range: Lord Ommin's hand can continuously spin around in complete circles. Not only that, it lowers into his sleeve and emerges as a pirate hook.
- A Boy and His X: A Lo and his Squiggle. Squiggle is a small, cute chibi-like human. The reason for this is that he was dead the whole story, and his spirit took this form because this is how Lo conditioned himself to remember him.
- Absurdly Cool City: The majority of Bugganin is a futuristic city, smack dab in the center of a world mostly stuck in medieval times.
- Absurdly Ineffective Barricade: Lo, with the average weight of an 8-11 year old boy, is able to break through a train roof panel and land inside the train.
- Absurdly Spacious Sewer: The sewers under Brimdome are apparently large enough for a party of five to fight a shadow demon.
- Achilles' Heel: Doubt, at full power, is completely invincible to any attacks born out of spite or other negative motives. They only fuel him. Attacks born out of care for others and the motive to protect what you love, however, are very effective!
