James Reece is a the protagonist of a thriller novel series written by ex-Navy SEAL Jack Carr. Lieutenant Commander Reece is a SEAL commander and veteran of the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan who loses his entire platoon during a botched mission. As if that wasn't terrible enough, he is then diagnosed with a brain tumor and returns back home to find his wife and daughter murdered, and his last remaining teammate dead in an apparent suicide. He quickly suspects something is amiss when assassins target him as well and discovers a dark conspiracy within the US government. With few allies and many enemies, Reece creates a list of every conspiracy member he can identify and begins hunting and methodically killing every single one of them. Things only escalate from there as Reece clashes with contracted assassins, Russian Spetsnaz, crime lords, Islamic extremists, and even a plot to destroy America with biological weapons.
