The Infinity Ring is a Spiritual Successor to The 39 Clues as it's a historical fiction book and web game.

The story is about three kids — Dak, Sera and Riq — from an Alternate Universe. In this universe, several events in history have been changed,and this is threataning to lead to a Cataclysm that will destroy Earth. When Sarah unlocks the time travel abilities of Infinity Ring, it leads them getting evolved in strange war from a secret group know as Hystorians and the most powerful force on their Earth, the SQ.

There are 7 books in the series thus far, plus one coming in August 2014:

  • Eternity (will be released on August 29th, 2014)

Tropes in the Books:

  • Beethoven Was an Alien Spy: Many historical figures turn out to be either SQ agents or Hystorian agents. Aristotle gets special mention for being the original mastermind behind the Hystorians.
  • Godwin's Law of Time Travel: The SQ made the Axis win World War 2, and the Hystorians try to prevent this.
  • Historical Villain Upgrade: In-universe, Christopher Columbus is considered to be evil in the new timeline, while the treacherous Armacio brothers are considered to be the real discoverers of America. After the trio changes the timeline, a school is renamed after Columbus.
  • No Equal-Opportunity Time Travel: When the trio travels to the Antebellum American South, Riq, who is black, is captured and sold at a slave auction.
  • The Mole: Eyeball joins the mutiny against Columbus, but turns out to be on the Hystorians' side
  • Set Right What Once Went Wrong: The running plot: History has gone wrong in several places thanks to the SQ, and the kids need to stop it.
  • Taking You with Me: Raoul attemtps to do this to Dak, but it doesn't work.
