Heartwarming / The Tonight Show

Johnny Carson's era:

  • The episode from 1987 with four-year-old spelling bee star Rohan Varavadekar. The interview is both hilarious and makes you go "Awwww". Especially the moment when Rohan invites Johnny to his fifth birthday party.
  • From Johnny Carson's run; the night before his final show, Bette Miller serenades him with a performance of "One More For the Road."
  • Johnny's final show itself - "I bid you a very heartfelt goodnight."

Conan O'Brien's era:

  • When Conan told about his concussion, he thanked Andy for riding with him to the hospital and keeping him company while he recovered.
  • The contract negotiations with NBC for ending the series to let Leno back on the air didn't cover his stagehands, so Conan paid them out of his own pocket for six weeks.

Jimmy Fallon's era:

  • Similar to Stephen Colbert, one of Jimmy Fallon's shows had an all-soldier audience while they were on shore leave. To cap it off, he and Adam Sandler sang a spoof of Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places" - "Friends on All Bases" - in tribute to them.
  • The US women's gymnastics team from the 2016 Olympics appeared on the show to play Hungry Hungry Humans. They were greeted with a standing ovation and chants of "USA! USA!"
