Volume 1
- Even if it is a Foregone Conclusion that it won't last, it's nice to see Link helping out Rusl, having fun with the kids, fishing, spending time with Ilia, and generally having the time of his life in Ordon Village.
- Link finally comes clean about his past, admitting that he accidentally made his old hometown disappear by pulling the Gaurof Sword. Rather than condemn Link for his actions, or feel overwhelmed by the fact that the boy has been a Stepford Smiler the entire time he's known him, Rusl hugs Link and tells him that he has a home in Ordon Village.
Volume 2
- Despite all of Midna's pestering and the fact that she forced him to become her Human Pet, Link immediately allows her to hide in his shadow when Faron's light burns her.
Volume 3
- When Midna finds out that the Golden Wolf actually survived Zant's attack, she flies over a hugs him. Yes, the snarky, preening imp actually glomps her friend and lets a Single Tear loose.
- Ilia very nearly commits suicide with a broken teacup. What stops her? A pair of kittens who need someone like her to take care of them.
Volume 4
- Even under the sway of the Fused Shadow, Darb/Fyrus is unable to bring himself to harm Luda. This gives Link an opening to shoot Fyrus' Third Eye, breaking the curse on Darb and letting him reunite with Luda.
- Ilia gives Link a tackling hug when she finally remembers who he is.
Volume 5
- All of Chapter 31 is this when it's not being a Tear Jerker, between the flashback of Zelda and Midna becoming each other's Only Friend in their youth to the former pulling a Heroic Sacrifice to save the latter's life. Midna realizes that Zelda never abandoned her and, while she is obviously distraught by the measures the princess had to take, she allows herself to be openly appreciative of her.Zelda: That day...long ago...I was going to tell you...that my treasure...the most valuable thing...in my entire world...was you.
