Heartwarming / The Debbie and Carrie Show

Go To

  • One of the most incredible moments in the Debbie and Carrie saga occured after Sandy Smith met Denise Kalli. Because Denise was the sister of Diana Kalli, one of Sandy's worst enemies, you'd think Sandy would hate her too. But in fact, Sandy as a teen had dealt with Jennifer Kalli, the mother of Diana and Denise, and understood that Diana would have been her mother's favorite and Denise would have been scorned. Even as adults, Diana despised and rejected Denise, breaking her heart since both of their parents were now dead, leaving Denise all alone. The very next day after they met, Sandy took the unusual step of inviting her husband Steve Miller to her Texas Town (they had been separated for over a year, with Steve remaining in Tulsa) and then recommending that they divorce so that Steve could marry Denise and give her the loving family she always should have had. Steve agreed to this. Because of this, Denise would always be one of Sandy's best friends, even after Sandy killed Diana and later had an extramarital affair with Steve, which Denise endorsed and defended.
  • At one point, Carrie has a dream in which she makes love with Patrick, the boy she was with before she met Debbie, who she would eventually marry. After she admits to this dream and feels like she was cheating on Debbie, she is told, "It was only a dream; you can't help having dreams." Debbie then asserts that Patrick's loss was Debbie's gain.
    • Debbie, unlike her mother, was NOT the jealous type. Perhaps because of the previous incident, Debbie eventually arranges for Carrie to have an extramarital affair with Jason Laker, who Carrie once dated during a time she and Debbie were separated. Carrie then went right back to Debbie and stayed faithful to her to the end of their lives.
