  • After her marriage to Bash, Kenna goes to the trouble of retrieving the ring he gave her that she had been forced to give up. Bash offers to buy her a new ring to replace the little one, but Kenna won't hear of it.
  • Lord Castleroy standing up for Greer against her controlling father, happily giving up Greer's dowry and even providing substantial dowries for her sisters on the condition that Greer must be the one to approve their marriages, so that she can be sure their father doesn't just sell them off to the highest bidder. Castleroy does all this because he is a businessmen who knows the value of things, and he considers Greer "priceless".
  • In Higher Ground, the conversation between Francis and one of his men at the end. The man, Leith, who was sent into the army for being caught kissing Greer, a woman far above his station, has been injured by an enemy cannon blast and wants the other men to leave him to die. Francis send the other men along to fight but stays with Leith, refusing to give up on a good man. The two have struck up a friendship, and Francis manages to get Leith up and on the path to a doctor by getting him to think about what he's fighting for: Greer. Francis doesn't even know at the time that the woman Leith is talking about is one of his own wife's ladies, but for Leith alone promises to give him a title and lands in thanks for his work, allowing him to rise to Greer's station and marry her.
  • Kenna's maternal kindness toward the traumatized pagan boy, Pascal. After a day of bonding, he speaks for the first time to tell her what happened to him. Then both she and Bash promise to never let anyone hurt him ever again.
  • Kenna seems a magnet for these — in the first season finale, she tells Bash, who has spent the better part of the season trying to prove himself beyond his familial connections, that he's enough.
  • Catherine finally letting go of her dead twin daughters, and properly saying goodbye to them.
Catherine: I promise I will join you soon, and to you it will seem a very short time. Goodbye, my loves.
    Both: ...Goodbye, Mother.
(they fade away into nothing, as Catherine watches tearfully)
  • Elizabeth shows her soft side by tending to Gideon's daughter, Agatha, who is secretly dying. She lets the girl enjoy court, even a ride in a carriage and tended by footmen, the little girl being treated as royalty herself.
  • Catherine actually gives Mary encouragement before her political wedding to Darnley.
Catherine: You may not love him but you are surrounded by people who love you.
    • The fact that Catherine actually came to Mary's wedding and that Mary invited her.
  • Nicole wakes up after a night of sex with Henri to find him trying on her jewelry. When she asks, noting that he has marks on his chest that would've likely come from a corset, he admits he does sometimes like wearing women's clothing. This is heartwarming for two reasons. First, Henri is completely unashamed and unapologetic — yes, he hides it, but he fully recognizes that it's because society is too closed-minded to accept it, not because he should hide it. Second, Nicole is 100% cool with it, and doesn't judge him even slightly; she was simply curious.
  • Mary dies - when she opens her eyes, there is Francis. In death, finally, she is happy - no war, politics, just her and Francis and a lot of ghost sex...
