Heartwarming / Dragons: The Nine Realms

• The relationship between Tom and Olivia. Just from the first episode you can tell they mean the world to each other. While not focused on too much, we do see more of them throughout the series and it's rarely not adorable.
  • Tom tries to tell his mom his secret numerous times before she finds it out herself since he doesn't like lying to her. But something always happens resulting in him ending up not telling her.
• As is custom for a show in the How to Train Your Dragon universe, the relationship between the Riders and their Dragons is one of absolute trust and love. Even Eugene shows his affection for Web Master openly.
• In Season 3, when Eugene sees his sister freaking out while they are stuck in the cave of the Deadly Spinner dragons, he drops his attitude and his Big Brother Instinct activates.
• In Season 6, when the Riders are stuck in a cave and suffocating to death, Jun asks Eugene whether he has any last insults. Eugene says he doesn't and the two share a moment of mutual respect. Keep in mind they spend most of their time bickering.
• Alex and Eugene developed an unwanted friendship in "Uncharted Territory". This continues throughout the series where they are genuine good friends despite Alex being annoyed with Eugene.
  • In "Rise of Jörmungandr", Eugene even stands up to Tom for talking rudely to Alex.
  • In the Season 8 finale, Eugene and Alex tell the other they consider them their best non-dragon friend and embrace in a hug.
