This seems to be false information; Sybil does discuss her wish for the baby being christened a Catholic explicitly with Mary near the beginning of episode 5.

* Mary says that Sybil told her she would be happy to have the baby be a Catholic. We never actually ''see'' this happen on screen. So, either Sybil ''did'' tell it to Mary off-screen... or Mary knows that Sybil wouldn't give a care in the world and is pulling off ''one hell of a lie'' to honour her sister's memory.
** Also the fact that Edith and Mary are in a room together and they are ''working together to honour their deceased little sister's memory!'' For once, there's no squabbling, bitching, snarking, fighting, or anything else - Sybil's honour and memory is at stake and could be besmirched, so they put it aside, at least for that.

* It's a small moment, but this troper was very touched when Cora secretly watches Sybil bake her first cake. The smile on her face just makes the scene. What's more is that the way O'Brien rats her out leaves one expecting Cora to be annoyed or more likely to laugh (given Sybil's first attempts). Instead she's so proud of her baby girl.

* Violet speaking to Matthew [[spoiler: After he gains the ability to walk again]] trying to convince him to be with Mary instead of Lavinia. Matthew gives an impassioned argument that it would simply be wrong to dismiss Lavinia when she was willing to stick with him [[spoiler: when everyone thought he would never walk again and live her life as a nursemaid]]. Violet concedes that he is acting like a man of honor and promises not to have the two of them fallout over this.

* Robert and Cora reconciliating as the latter recovers from the Spanish flu. They've gone through a rough patch during the latter part of the war, Robert feeling useless and neglected as Cora spent her time on Downton as a convalescent home and on her power struggles with Isobel, and both Mary's and Sybil's social and romantic situations causing more friction between them. Shortly before Cora fell ill, Robert stepped close to an affair with the housemaid Jane, and it's obvious he feels awkward around Cora now with their marriage having been in peril, but when Cora reaches out for them to mend the rift, he wholeheartedly accepts.

** Ditto "I think I would love you however, whatever, whenever..."
** Also on the subject of Bates and Anna: "I would marry you ''now'' if I weren't already your wife!" Oh, ''Anna!''

* The sheer joy on Edith's face when she manages to pull a broken tree stump off the ground driving a farmer's tractor. There had been some raised eyebrows in the family before about Edith's ambitions to drive and then about her putting that skill to use to help out ''on a farm'', but when she accomplishes the feat and is cheered on by the farmer for it, she's positively beaming.

** When Atticus reveals he is jewish Rose's only response is to be confused why it would matter. Atticus slowly lights up as he realizes that she truly doesn't care about his religion.
*** For context this was a time of heavy antisemitism in England, with Robert even mentioning that there was an uproar over Atticus' father being made a lord and the Russian exiles expressing rage at Atticus.

** Tom going to Mr. Carson and asking for his help to convince Mary to come out of her grief and help run the estate, stating that he is going to Carson because he knows he only wants what's best for Mary. Mr. Carson pauses before quietly nodding his head in agreement. Double heartwarming for it being the turning point in his relationship with Tom.
